I know many general threads have been done about possible conclusions but this is more specific. This is only based on if Vic dies.
The further into season 7 we go, the more I think it won't end well for Vic. I can't see him going to jail so I suspect he dies. Now him and Shane can't kill each other (I think that's already been proven) and I don't think it'll be Ronnie who does it so that leaves many possibilities.
Terry's brother? Someone from the Barn (Claudette, Dutch, Julian)? Cassidy? Someone from the past (Antwon, Armenian's etc.)? Someone completely random?
So many possibilities and all are plausible (although I REALLY hope it isn't Cassidy). I'm curious to see other people's thoughts on, if Vic dies, who'll be the one to kill him.
I didn't put a poll because I want to hear people reasoning and not just their votes.
Personally, I think Terry's brother is the most logical choice since it's basically the series coming full circle but I think it'll be some random banger or something of the sort. Maybe some random Mexican. In fact, I suspect it will end up benefitting Aceveda and he will become mayor as Vic dies. Just a thought.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I don't feel Vic is going to die. In fact, I'll feel kind of cheated if he does die. I don’t find it a particularly ‘fitting’ end for him. I just think everyone else is going to die, or desert him. Maybe Vic tries to kill Shane, falters like he’s done before, so Ronnie kills Shane instead. And then Mara kills Ronnie. I can totally imagine that crazy bitch doing that – her devotion to Shane is insane (and slightly endearing, if you ask me So his Strike Team family – all dead. And Corrine will desert him, I have no doubt. Pezuela may also find out that Vic’s been doing some underhanded shit to bring him down, and… kill his family. That may be a little extreme though. Corrine and the kids not wanting anything to do with him seems like the much more likely scenario. After that, who does he have left? What does he left? He’ll probably get thrown in jail too, if Mara’s still alive. The man’s a cancer – everything he touches turns to shit. I think that’s going to be his fate – he doesn’t die, but after it’s all over, he just has nothing left to live for.

Only considering the question "if Vic dies" and no other possibilities ...
My #1 guess right now is a three-way "Mexican standoff" at the end (a la Quintin Tarantino films) between Vic and Shane and Ronnie (throwing Ronnie into the actual standoff mix changes the dynamic enough that guns actually do go off)
Another suspicion that is more of a stretch ... Olivia is not who she says she is and takes out Vic in th end (I don't necessarily like this conclusion because I don't like a "new" character getting to take the "ulimate action" in Shield history - killing Vic
One other possibility ... Ronnie kills Vic and frames a banger (full circle to what Vic did to Terry) and Ronnie gets away with everything (Shane would be dead earlier, probably also by Ronnie or by Vic)

Since all of you and anyone posting below me have "seen" the ending through your speculation it is by definition untrue since the no one will see the ending coming.

as much as weve seen from the shield, i dont think that they will have someone random kill him if that were the case,
i dont know why i dont think terrys brother would do it either, i dont know it will be a surprise almiost thrown in, and i dont think they would do that,
the only major shocker they have thrown in, that was completely from out of nowhere in my opinion was when pezuela showed vic the picture, but it worked damn it,
if they had the brother or a banger, do it it would be too much, i t might be realistic in some way, specially since he is no longer a cop and a banger wouldnt hesitate, but they are saying that is not gonna be a soprano ending meanin that most wouldnt be disappointed like most were with the sopranos, (i wasnt i thought it was genious)
so in that case if they are promisin an endin unlike the sopranos then i doubt they would have him killed by a random banger, unless when they meant unlike the sopranos they meant they wouldnt end it without closure,
im talkin wayyyy to much so here it goes, if he dies it wont be ronnie, ronnie is loyal to vic, vic would kill him self after shootin shane, ok thats too far off

as much as weve seen from the shield, i dont think that they will have someone random kill him if that were the case, As I mentioned in another similar thread in "Snitches" (don't worry, no spoilers here), it could be a newly introduced character who only shows up for the final episode ... full circle back to Terry who only appeared (alive and in current time, anyway) in the Pilot.

After reading all these theories, the common consensus seems to point to many deaths and violence, i.e. a tad macho ending. I hope the ending has more weight with emotional punch than violent action.

Macbeth has a deep, weighty conclusion while simultaneously letting McDuff open a can of whoop a$$ on Macbeth.
So, I figure it will be the same with The Shield.

I dont think Vic will die.
I think he'll end up alone and without a badge which would be worse than death to Vic.
He fears the above, he doesn't fear death at all.
Vic dying would be a cheap and easy way out.

I couldn't agree more, spudder. Bullets are traumatic, while words & emotions are dramatic. The Shield, at its best, has always been about the latter. I'm hoping for something as devestating as the end of Season 1, 3, or 5. Odd numbered season finales have been heavyweight emotional rollercoasters.

I would think death would be too easy of a way out for Vic, but of course it is a very real possibility. I could see Shane killing Vic, but then Shane getting caught for it and giving up Ronnie in exchange, which means all of them would pay for the choices they made.
But more so I think Terrys brother will kill him. In Season 5 when Kavanaugh brought Vic to the house hs shot Terry in, Terrys brother said that Vic will pay when he sees god, and he will be the one to deliver him to god (don't remember the specific quote, but its close to that). It would also be Vic paying for his original sin.
Oh Yeah, I did just remember something thoughl, when the first ads for season 7 were showing. I slow motioned it and there was a scene which I haven't seen so far, where Vic was walking down a street in the day time and it looked as though a cop rose his gun at vic from behind and then vic turned around with his hands up. So that would also lead me to believe that vic gets arrested.
Its one thing that Sean Ryan and the rest of the shiled writers are great at, we never ever ever expect whats coming right around the corner

Inside Straight: "Odd numbered season finales have been heavyweight emotional rollercoasters." I've noticed that as well. I imagine the series finale will be the greatest heavyweight emotional rollercoaster of them all.
I hope the writers don't have Terry's brother kill Vic. To me, that would be one of the most dissatisfying ways to conclude the series, despite the obvious bringing back of Vic's original sin.
Personally, at this point, I think the writers--for the sake of staying true to their vision--would have to let the exterior forces against the Strike Team (and that includes any and all characters ranging from Claudette to Aceveda to Dutch to Pezuela to wildcards like Danny or Julien to anyone from Antwon to Terry's brother to Kavanaugh or whomever) impact the internal forces that lead to self-destruction. That has been the road the writers have taken, as it became clear especially with Season 3 onward... So I'm hoping we receive a tremendous amount of drama and suspense emanating from the external forces resulting in internal demise and downfall.

I'm hoping for something as devestating as the end of Season 1, 3, or 5. Odd numbered season finales have been heavyweight emotional rollercoasters. If bullets are merely traumatic, but Season 5 ending was "dramatic" then what does that make grenades? I don't think violence and drama are necessarily mutually exclusive. Violence, if done well and for the right reasons, can be equally thematically traumatic AND dramatic. Reference the penultimate scene in Clint's Eastwood's masterpiece on the subject, "Unforgiven". That scene where Eastwood guns down everyone in the saloon, says a few cold lines to Gene Hackman's character, then cold-bloodedly murders him too is incredibly TRAUMATIC and DRAMATIC at the same time. The true weight of KILLING another man was never before rendered so profoundly on film. I'm looking for an ending to The Shield that approaches that caliber of storytelling power.

Or maybe the ending will be Vic attending baby Lee's baptism juxtaposed with all of Vic's enemies like Shane, Cruz, etceteras getting killed.
Or Vic will silently approach Shane in the darkness of an alley with a machete while Shane whispers, "The horror, the horror..."
Seriously, though, n00b, your pointing to Unforgiven makes sense. And I agree. The Shield has already had moments that were hugely violent and dramatic at the same time (including but not limited to: Terry's death; Armadillo's beatdown; Angie's slaying; Carl and Scooby's bodies being discovered; Lem; Guardo's extermination, etceteras).

If everyone squares off with their guns pointed at one another, and Matthew Mackey screams plain as day Stop pointing that gun at my dad! I wouldn't know whether to scream or throw my remote.
