You guys are dreaming if you think they're going to cancel Dirt early. I've never heard of any of the cable networks not airing all the episodes of a show. Even shows that don't make it past there first season seem to at least reach the air. That's part of the allure of cable. It says no matter what the ratings, we guarantee you one season's worth episodes.
Is there any examples of a cable network pulling a show without airing all the episodes?

My intention isn't to anger anyone here, even if that's what this will do. I saw this and had to post it. Question: Is there anything you can tell us about FX's Dirt?— Torin Ausiello: The early reviews are in, and they're bad — really bad. We're talking "flop of the year" bad. Consider yourself warned. tvguide.com/News-Views/Columnists/Ask-Ausiello/default.aspx?columndate=13-Dec-2006I have yet to find these reviews, but I'll be looking. FX ordered 13 episodes of Dirt, so that'll push The Shield into April.

This is really beyond frustrating. I would be really curious to hear FX's reasoning behind pushing The Shield farther and farther back. Let's hope they don't try to screw over Season 7.

Because Mrs. Cox Arquette got a million bucks an episode for "FRIENDS". Then she tried to play a hard ass reporter in the "SCREAM" series. Now she is going to attempt to use some of that cash to act like a hard ass reporter and drag some star power into this show called "DIRT" that is getting in the way of our show. (Maybe she borrowed some from the grave site on "The Shield" preview for her promos.) If "THIEF" and "OVER THERE" couldn't make it, she doesn't have a chance in hell. Yeah, I am being pessimistic and pissed off that "The Shield" is taking a back seat to a show dedicated to fictional tabloid bullshit.

Icy, I see you are in Wonderland. How about a show about a wacky bunch of criminals sharing a crib on "Wonderland Drive", and this broken down porn star gets 'em all killed because...oh, wait, that's a feature film. Hmmm...but if they serialize it, they could at least push The Shield off until 2008 and force us to invent more games. Or maybe they could let Courtney Cox be in it as a hard-assed reporter who does a feature on the Wonderland killings and comes to believe that the ghost of John Holmes is on the loose in L.A....oh, wait. That's true...at least the ghost of John Holmes part.
Sorry, guys, long, long week and I am just stewing big time about this whole Dirt BS deferring my gratification...I was REALLY looking forward to the return of TS.

One of FX's highest rated shows is being shoved out of the way for a washed up has been (IMO) who thinks she can act. But her Friends image can sell a TV show. I wasn't a big fan of her in Friends and laughed at her in Scream. Actually I laughed at the whole movie trilogy, but that's beside the point.

Like a play on words of her maiden name, she must have "gone down on", the right people at FX.

I saw the promo for Dirt and at the end it showed a car sideswiping another car, going on two wheels for a while, then flipping upsidedown and exploding. That one scene was all I needed to know that I will NOT watch this show. I mean, did they splice that in from file footage? How many times f*cking times do we have to see that scene before it gets old? Got old for me a few hundred times ago. Bleccchhh.

One good thing I can see with The Dirt showing before The Shield is that we won't half to listen to the stupid commercail anymore. If we half to wait untill April I'm sure we'll be seeing commercials for Rescue me and IASIP.

well, you folks oughta like this enough then: Question: Is there anything you can tell us about FX's Dirt?— Torin Ausiello: The early reviews are in, and they're bad — really bad. We're talking "flop of the year" bad. Consider yourself warned. from "ask ausiello" it's been a long time since a show was cancelled during its opening season, but there's still hope?

I already posted that thing from Ausiello, hon. However, since I like your signature I'll be gentle about it. In protest, I won't be watching the show...I'll be watching the commercial breaks in between the show for Shield promos but once the show comes back on, I'll be watching something else. Hey, I'll take my Shield fix any way I can get it...well, almost any way.
If only I could make Lemansky out of lemons...he would taste like a mix of lemon and honey. Mmmmm lemon honey. Yeah, I'll stop now.

Hey, I'll take my Shield fix any way I can get it...well, almost any way. I was trying to figure out how to watch for SHIELD commercials without watching DIRT. What a dilemma. Do I have to walk around the house doing things until a commercial comes on and keep a bucket nearby in case I need to puke should my eyes catch too much of THAT show? And I sure don't want to give DIRT or FX my ratings by tuning in. What is the answer???

Unless you have a Nielson's rating box connected to your TV, you having the TV on while Dirt is on won't be recorded or counted by anyone. So feel free to keep it on and leave it muted until the commercials come on. Also, I think it's hilarious people are planning to tune into commercials and tune out the show

I just read another review for Dirt. This time it's from the Roush Review section of the TV Guide and he gave it a 2 out of 10-and both points neither for CC but for the photogrpaher partner character who just happens to be schizophrenic. He also said it was dull and stupid. I'm still wating for a critic to utter those magic words-they pushed back The Shield for this.

That would make sense. Rescue Me is cool, but it's latest season was kinda 'meh.' Nip/Tuck is slowly going down the drain (they really need to step it up next season). It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia can't possibly stay that funny for long. They need another great show. The Shield is probably the best show they have there right now.

They had better damn well be taking into consideration that "SHIELD" fans are a core FX watching audience. Keep us happy and find us something that is going to make us want to stick around other than "LUCKY" and "DIRT". Plus, I agree with Axe..."Nip/ Tuck" is getting pretty crazy; "Sunny" brought Devito on and is losing momentum: the last "Rescue Me" was okay...but could have used more substance and less sizzle. Plus, don't make us wait forever for our show or we are going to get pissed.

Nip tuck should have a entire set of new characters and issues, seeing as they will be in Beverly Hills next season instead of Miami.
