Thanks for changing the colour Chem! I thought it looked bad as well, but in my laziness did change it.... I was going for the lime look and thought green would suffice, I shoulda previewed huh?!!
Yeah there's no other crime going on in Melbourne except for little old me parked in a dark street in an industrial area chowing down on some chicken and chips!!! I was in a foul mood that night already, so it was lucky I didn't say anything out of line or get out of the car and start pacing around or something....
Sorry to disappoint you and elude to the fact that I am not actually an angel... hang on .... wait a minute... I never noticed these wings before....

Well, I decided I'd rather spend a couple of minutes changing the color and being able to read your responses than straining my eyes for longer than that. And I noticed that it depends on the background. For example, vegaslily also used green but her post had the black background, whereas yours had the gray background ... they alternate. On the other hand some color would not look good on either background, such as maroon. With maroon, you'd have to increase the font size or make it bold face, or both, and that's too much work. So, I hope that peeps take note of which color their background will be when choosing a font color. And, yes, there's also the preview option. Now, as far as those wings are concerned ... if you just noticed them I dare say you couldn't have been much of an angel, now could you?!

Ok, you've got me, it's true, I'm no angel! I don't think I'm bat either! Thanks for the text and background lesson Chem! I'll stick to the contrasting colours so the weaker eye'd are able to read my posts easily!!

4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? In real life they should stay within the peramiters set by the people above them. The ends only justify the means if the means are kept from public view.
5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable? Broadcast is for family, cable should be able to do whatever the hell it wants whenever the hell it wants
6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? none

10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law? I don't tink it is right, and I think most small and big town cops feel above the law, mid size stay within limits
11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? corrupt but getting better
12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? ) my college online handel

cool answers tekila and david!! you guys should feel right at home here with the rest of the Shield freaks!! yeah, welcome to our group, guys. It seems both of you are involved in mall security, as such. I'd like to hear about some of your more memorable experiences in that capacity. Did you ever have to get physical with anyone to keep them from getting away?

Welcome to the group. We hope you get a chance to respond to our "icebreaker" questions as a way of "getting your feet wet." 1. How did you find out about "The Shield?" From those commercials on the radio. A good friend of mine was an avid fan instantly. I got in about the end of Season 2. 2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most? Vic Mackey is one bad...shut yer mouth! 3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join? Myspace. I wanted to read the threads about the set visit. You guys are pretty exclusive. 4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? To the extent that bad people are punished. When good people go to jail, the line has been crossed. I think whatever it takes to put the bad guys away, as long as that line is distinct. 5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable? As far as they want. I didn't even realize that FX was allowing The Shield to say "shit" until probably the 10th time I heard it on the show. The reason being that it wasn't gratuitous. It was just like everyday conversation. I think after 10pm anything goes with TV. I think it's silly to say "This station and show this, but this one can't" Why not? Truth is, TV Networks and TV shows are at the mercy of the sponsors. If Crest doesn't want their toothpaste sold on a Network that broadcasts the word "Shit" Then that's the way it's gonna be. That is why you see alot of Girls Gone Wild commercials on FX and Comedy Central. 6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? I kinda like CSI. I don't really watch a ton of TV. Unless it's Giants Baseball. 7. Do you have any experience with or in the criminal justice system? Nothing to speak of. 8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey? Are you kidding? 9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left? They would have to bring in a big name to keep the showing going. Someone bad too, like Samuel L Jackson, Nick Cage, or maybe Jason Stratham (sp?) 10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law? In my town the police are pretty bored and waste a ton of time and money justifying their budged by chasing kids for cruising and giving tickets for not having a front license plate, life and death stuff like that. 11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? Flawed for sure. If you get into homeland security type stuff, it's downright scary. The biggest thing for me is racism. I don't like the good 'ol boys network. 12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? ) Primus Sucks.

1. How did you find out about "The Shield?"
I first watched it on Channel 5 when it was aired in the United Kingdom. I was channel surfing and just stumbled on the Shield. Loved it but kinda got outta it and didnt follow up. Watching the whole Lem thing (yeah, I knew the ending of season 5 without wanting to. Damn Wikipedia) made me rewatch the other episodes.
2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most?
I believe it's the storytelling and the unpredictablity of storylines. Who would have EVER thought that Season 5 would end that way? I never expected Armadillo to get stabbed and by god... Margos getting shot at the end and being played. Excellent.
3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join?
I found this via another forum I had joined which isnt very active. I decided to join just because this place is more active.
4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means?
Cops HAVE to bend rules now and then to catch someone or to prevent something. If that means planting evidence on a man who you *know* is guilty but cant find the evidence, by all means.
5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable?
Television is usually very strict in content these days. Language, Nudity and Sexual Content is part of our lives yet you cant show it on TV just because some old pensioner will complain or a mother will blame 'The Shield' or wrestling or something like that because a child kills another?
6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like?
Um... nothing else, really. I like the Sopranos since that's related to crime and law breaking ;D
7. Do you have any experience with or in the criminal justice system?
Yes. I once played a really dark prank where I pretended to be a police officer and said that a teacher I didnt like liked kids. I got arrested and cautioned for that. Really really dumb...
8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey?
Michael Chicklis plays that role so perfectly. I mean, here's a guy who's been a really nice dad and then a humerous police captain... NOW he's a bald pissed off cop who has issues all around him which he struggles to solve. Nobody else could be Vic Mackey other than Chicklis.
9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left?
No. I think Vic Mackey is the main character of the show who plays a leadership role. If he left, the Shield wouldnt be able to work. HOWEVER, I think Walter Goggins could step up and try his luck. He's done a great job... but you need the Michael Chicklis to keep the show going.
10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law?
Law enforcement are usually very good although they do tend to slip up. As for corrupt cops, I think it's a very small percentage that are corrupt, probably around 20%.
11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system?
It's satisfactory although there could be improvements.
12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? )
My name rhymes with Vic... So Nick... Mackey. I see myself as a bent cop who creates trouble ;D

Ok now, I'm in the moode to get interrogated, but this better work, as I got interuppted and lost my last post! 1. Hubby seen the preview season 1. I thought it was another man show (he has bad taste in renting movies etc.) until I layed eyes upon that Lem guy! I was hooked! 2. Oooh, besides Lem, Vics shades & quick thinking, Ronnies' worrying & techy skills, Shanes' teeth and jokes, Claudettes eyeballs and Dutchs' duffassness?? Oh its' just so well written and intriguing I can't help myself. 3. When I was doing research on The Shield to find out more info, and when I thought I could find all the answers via "internet". I finally joined, to see the pics about that latest set visit that E was teasing about! I was stalking for a long, long time. Just to skeerd, I guess. I'm now more comfortable to post and reply on MBs' - hey give me a break - this is all new to me - and me brain is always toooooo cautious. 4. Thats' a tough one - Would I like Vic on my streets??? Hmmmm! I would love to see the criminal not get off and run wild in our streets! And I would love to see the victum not treated like a criminal! Never was like this when I grew up, too many laws me thinks! My fantasy sometimes is that 'vigilantism that Vic has'-I know its' not right, but I do enjoy watching him do it! 5. No, I can't see The Shield on network TV, It shocks me at times, but thats' why I so love it! What bothers me is that there is enough of too much on network already. My opinion is if kids (trust me I got 2 grandkids) watch some of these shows & are confused and don't have someone to talk to about what they are seeing or hearing-then we have a problem. Oh hell, even the news is disturbing! I fear for them! 6. Haaaa- Old school Miami vice was hot! LOL I'll catch CSI, W/o a Trace sometimes, Cold Case for sure now that "Lem" will be there!!! Boston Legal makes me laugh, but thats' really not a cop show! Seee how slow I am!!! 7. Yes, unfortunaltely as a Victum! 8. Haaa! My hubs didn't believe it was the same guy! He actually argued with me about it! LOL - Thats' how good Chicky is in the role!!!! 9. Hmmmm- Since at this time I know the end is in sight, I refuse to answer this one. OK? 10. All of them? ? 11. It SUX too many laws!!!!!!!!!! Tooo many loop holes to jump through!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 12. I've always been a rebel from way back when, and yes SmokeDog was right, Billy Idols' rebel yell is just a rockin tune that can make me dance and laugh! And I do hate injustices in the world today so I can do a great big rebel yell (when I'm not skeerred)!! Thanks! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. How did you find out about "The Shield?" Was watching something on FX and saw the previews. I decided I'd give it a try. I loved MC as The Commish, so I figured why not.
2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most? The way the writers are not afraid to break boundaries of cable TV every show. IN the first 5 minutes of the pilot ep, I saw more rules being broken than ever. The grittiness of the show kept making me come back for more.
3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join? Saw a poster on IMDB's message board for the Shield with a link to these boards in his siggy and decided I'd give this forum a chance.
4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? The punishment or the means should always fit the crime. If we were tougher on more people who break laws, those of us who follow would be less inclined to step over to the other side.
5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable? I think if you don't like what's on the channel, change it. These PTC people and the ones who whine about content need to change the channel.
6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? Law and Order: SVU, CSI, Justice
7. Do you have any experience with or in the criminal justice system? Worked as a dispatcher for a number of years before a career change. Went through a part time police academy hoping to be hired on by someone. Gave up on that due to politics.
8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey? I think he is a multi talented actor who can play just about any part. I loved him in The Three Stooges and enjoy his work as Vic Mackey.
9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left? If they'd bring back Lem...maybe. But I think the show needs to stay just as it is.
10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law? There are always a few bad apples who make the whole pie bad. I do think there are some LEO's out there such as the Strike Team who aren't afraid to take risks, but all in all, most LEOs are hard working, law abiding members of society.
11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? There are some aspects that remind me of a huge moo pile. (A nice way of saying bulls....)
12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? ) I love to ride horses. I have 5. I've yelled the phrase "I SAID WHOA DANG IT" more than once when saddle breaking a new horse. I've gotten thrown more than once, but I always get back on and try it again.

Welcome to the group. We hope you get a chance to respond to our "icebreaker" questions as a way of "getting your feet wet." 1. How did you find out about "The Shield?" well,i saw vic shooting terry on the trailer of the pilot episode and i said, this is a great challenge.the main character is an antihero?cool! 2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most? i watch it because the characters are all well developed the plot is breathtaking the acting is great.the shield is unconventional simple and complicated as the real life, the main lecture of characters is based more to their weaknesses than their skills, none in the series is the good guy and this is honest .i m sick of watching the hypocrisy of ethically immaculated and politically correct superheros anymore.the shield is the alternative answer to the police drama which lacks from tv and big screen lately. 3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join? since season 5a ended in such a crucial point i was roaming 360 degrees in the net in search for answers and points of view.and in one of those trips i found u. 4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? for our sake they should not get too far.we talk about our safety and this is a hell of an issue right now in the states.you don't know who you can trust.its ambiguous.from one hand we have to push our strengths to find the criminals but on the other hand we re giving away our personal freedom.anyway mackeys methods are fine to me ;D 5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable? i don't know.i guess children should be protected not only by explicit violence and nudity but by stupidity also in general.if broadcast tv brings the same standards as cable i think all the conservants of this country would go out in the streets for protest... .but i repeat I'm european idont know the contents of your cable and broadcast tv so dont take my answer too seriously. 6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? no other.somewhere i read abut the wire.i ll check it out... until january 9 atleast 7. Do you have any experience with or in the criminal justice system? no neither in good nor bad terms. 8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey? hes very brilliant and convincing at this role.he has that special impact with the viewers,he is dirty tough and other bad stuff but he has no secrets from us so we love him.the same thing counts for all of the cast.they all have weaknesses and secrets to hide from others but not from the viewers.thats why i find honest this show. 9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left? if michael leaves im going with him.no michael no party.hes the backbone and the spine of the show.nothing would work for old funs if chiklis left...and there is none to compare and noone to substitute him.he gave flesh and blood to this character and this series.the shield without michael is another show i wont seek to watch. 10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law? 1 to ten is my guess.if police is corrupted that means someone higher eventually a bureaucrat stinks worse.law enforcement you mean more cops?there were 40000 of them in NY in 2004 for the republican national convention. 11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? reach man hires powerful lawyers and they provide the reasonable doubt.poor guys simply goes to jail. 12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? ) you mean "further"?its where we all long to go ;D and its the title of a music track i like.

1. How did you find out about "The Shield?" I was working at a bar in Philadelphia and was lucky enough to meet two alcoholics who hailed from the same small New England state that i was from. After realizing that we all had the same sensibilities about the world, they invited me over to their house on Tuesdays to watch this cop show called the Shield. 2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most? I watch the Shield for many reasons. It fills the void that television and film has left me in for far too long now. The Shield is a intensely important world that has given me the most stunning fictional characters and an intelligent and thought provoking escape. 3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join? IMDB 4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? 5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable? 6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? none 8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey? Ruff ruff. Instinctual loving bulldog...perfect for Chicky. 9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left? He would never leave. If he did however, the entire cast could hold their own. If everyone has been able to make it this far including momentous events like Scott Brazil's death, they can make it through anything. Shawn Ryan wouldn't let his story go untold. 11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? not for me. 12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? ) I'm a geek across the board. It's a reference from the only other show that has ever effected me as much as the shield.
