yeah...he loves me but he ain't never gonna say it!! lol at least he must love me 'cause i made him watch The Shield! and we stay up late 'cause we always find something to argue about!! lol well, to stay in the topic i'm gonna answer the icebreakers questions... 1. How did you find out about "The Shield?" my dear bro, Leroy attached me to a chair and forbade me to leave before the end of the pilot...believe me, i had no will to leave at all! 2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most? gees...hard to say! everything! the shooting, the plots, the acting, the...energy, you know? when i watch an episode of The Shield it really keeps me awake! that's what i like! and i've seen shows that bored me as hell! 3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join? thanks to the family over there (on KJ board! ) so i figured i'd give it to my buddy ;D 4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? Watch the show buddy and you wouldn't tell me who is wrong or right... 5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? as far as the "credibility" asks for it! but yeah, i also think there would be something to be done with the hour of airing. 6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? i've tried some others but i happen to prefer The Shield above them all...so...that allows to save some money for the releasing of the DVD's!! 7. Do you have any experience with or in the criminal justice system? my father do! but i don't 8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey? he is what i'd call a f*****g awesome actor! you know i've never really been in contact with any dirty cop from LA! but Vic portraying one, i don't know it just seems so credible! he does an amazing job that's for sure!! wish i could see "The Commish" tho. 9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left? i think it could survive because the show has given a lot of great parts to the other characters, imo. i would have had no problem to follow Dutch, Shane or Lem if Vic had gotten killed...sometimes i even think it's too bad they didn't do it, 'cause they would have had so much balls to do something like that!!! 10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law? "I don't really have an opinion i am living in France..." well yeah, same as my buddy...actually i'm not sure there is a high percentage of cops believing they're above the law (in France) however i think that most of them just don't give a s**t about "protect and serve"...they basically just don't do their work...from what i could have read... 11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? "No comment" i'm also gonna slant with this one buddy. there's nothing i know about the American criminal justice system. however, when i watch a show like The Shield, i can't help telling myself how hard it must be to be a cop over there! so actually i wonder, is there one American criminal justice system or are there 52?! 'cause...i don't know, i think there are a lot of things that should matter to make a criminal justice system work... but hey, i'm only 20, i got time to change my mind about that! 12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name well...you know...i kept hearing "vato" in The Shield, i got a thing for Latin languages so i thought..."let's be everybody's vato!"

1. How did you find out about "The Shield?" Saw the FX ads for it before it started and was curious to see how Michael Chiklis would be as a "bad" cop 2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most? The story lines, it's a no bs kind of show, nothing else on tv like it.
3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join? I was trying to find some info on the show and came across this site. I joined cuz it's an awesome site loaded with great information.
4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? That's a hard one, depending on the crime i think some (not a lead pipe upside the head) brutality is justifiable, maybe in the case of terrorism or if someone's being held captive and the cops need to get to them before they die....
5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable? I think they do a pretty good job in keeping it real, what are we really missing? a bunch of f-yous and suck my d*ck? Yes broadcast tv should be different, appease the freaking uptight soccer moms that are out there so we get to enjoy something for ourselves..
6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? i used to watch all the law and order shows and i watch cold case.
7. Do you have any experience with or in the criminal justice system? No
8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey? He's awesome, at first i didnt' think he'd be able to pull it off but now i have seen the light...he rocks!!
9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left? The shows all about Vic, i dont think it could survive without him.
10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law? No clue
11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? I think it sucks, too many innocent people go to jail and too many guilty ones go free. 12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? ) i live in vegas, middle name is lilian, but i prefer lily

You used to watch all the Law and Orders? What made you stop? I watch all of them ... still. And I watch Cold Case bec. my daughter and I started watching it as one of the things we do together (doing things together is becoming more and more rare now that she's a teen ) And now that I hear Kenny Johnson is going to be in several of the early eps of the new season, I'm looking forward to it even more.

i actually started losing interest in them, i used to watch all 3 religiously but i think it was just overkill, i still watch the re-runs on a & e but that's about it. The only shows that i watch now are all on sunday, they are deadwood, lucky louie and the 4400... I still watch cold case and i was hoping that KJ would be making some more appearances on there, he and Lilly would be awesome as a couple...

Okay...let's see if I don't crack under the pressure: 1. How did you find out about "The Shield?" I actually saw a couple of the episodes here and there but it was Forest Whitaker who got me hooked on the show. I'm a fan of his and started watching regularly because of it-or as I like to say it, I came for Forest Whitaker and I stayed for Kenneth Johnson. That and the story and great dialouge.2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most? What doesn't? The characters, the story, the taut writing and creative dialouge, the directing, the look...I like just about everything about this show. I kick myself for not watching it sooner.3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join? I found out about this place through The Shield Lexicon and thought it would be a cool place to join.4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? I don't think anyone can ever really get the whole truth since it is nothing but perspective. However, I do think that they should only go as far to the point where they do not become any worse than the criminals themselves.5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable? To each their own. Broadcast networks have to appeal to the masses while cable networks have more of a luxury of lesser numbers-at least that is what it was back then. It's more about standards these days and each person has their own and it is just easier to play it safe. However, I like my programs with more risk and depth but if done intellegently.6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? Law And Order: CI, CSI: Las Vegas and the episodes of Cold Case that Kenny is in.7. Do you have any experience with or in the criminal justice system? Other than trying to get out of jury duty, no.8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey? It's his best role to date. A good combination of good acting and fine writing make all the difference.9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left? No...he is all ready too well identified with the chracter to turn back now.10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law? I wouldn't know because I live in an area that has a small population and a very low crime rate but I do think that corrupt cops only make up a small part of the overall whole. At least I hope so.11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? No system is perfect and is always prone to corruption. All we can do is resist the temptation withith ourselves to break the laws we created if they are not unjust.12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? ) It's my state of mind.Whew. Some of those questions were rather interesting but then complex question deserve complex answers. I hope you all at least don't think of mine as foolish.

Your answers are not foolish at all. In fact I changed the color of your replies so they would be easier to read. I especially like your reply to #4--that was right on the mark, IMO.

Actually, I'm glad you did. I thought the maroon text would have been brighter. Apparently, I was wrong. Thanks for that. Yeah, number four was a doozy...but then I just realize the mindset of the Strike Team as well. They never really thought what did was wrong until the consequences hit (which is a whole another subject of opinion into itself). Take the money train for instance...just because they were stealing from criminals did not mean that they were not thieves themselves. All they did was steal from them but it still meant that they still stole. Sorry about that...rambling again. Those were good questions though...they really do make you think as good questions should.

I don't think I've responded to this yet.... sure will help fill in my afternoon! 1. How did you find out about "The Shield?" Season 1 aired in Aus a few years ago, I watched it from the very beginning... the promo had me hooked from day 1 ... still waiting on season 5 to air...2. Why do you watch "The Shield"; ie, what part of the show draws you to it the most? What first drew me to watch The Shield was in the ad before the first episode they showed Vic with the phone books, I was hooked. The rawness of the show keeps me coming back.... and Lem! ...and now to see what becomes of EVIL EVIL Shane. 3. How did you find out about "TheShieldRap" and what made you decide to join? .:E:. posted pics from the site visit on the Kenny Johnson message board and I had to find out how she had got to go to the set... and I'm still here 4. How far do you think cops should be able to go to get the truth? To what extent do the ends justify the means? I think cops need to be able to get to the truth, but they shouldn't become criminals themselves while getting to it. But is it up to the cops or detectives or lawyers.... Getting to evidence maybe.... I don't think damning evidence should be excluded from cases because someone didn't have the correct signed piece of paper.... 5. How far do you think cable TV should be able to go in terms of language, nudity, and/or sexual content? Should broadcast TV have different standards than cable? I think there shouldn't be different standards, the exception being the timeslot that shows with the adult content are shown. I think people in general should learn to think for themselves. As long as shows have a warning so people can switch off if they don't want to watch. And parents should themselves control what they're kids watch. Give responsibility back to the parents to stop their kids watching such shows. My parents for the most part controlled the single tv in our household, we weren't allowed to watch anything they didn't want to watch or that contained such content. People are already forgetting how to think for themselves, I don't think we need to be further controlled.6. What other cop or law-related shows do you like? I used to watch Law and Order (as I've said in another thread) it just got too much for me, too repetitive, I watch it sometimes. I watch Cold Case, NCIS, Without a Trace (go aussie actors), I have watched a bit of the Closer, it hasn't been on very much here, Medium, but that started getting to me... I can't think of any others, there's a couple of aussie cop shows, but they are pretty lame in my opinion. 7. Do you have any experience with or in the criminal justice system? I worked on the helpdesk for the Department of Justice in Victoria, that was interesting, we'd get calls from Prison wardens who's prisoners were rioting because they couldn't get on the internet... calls from clerks in the middle of court because their printers weren't working, etc, etc. No personal experience though.8. Most of us know Michael Chiklis as "The Commish" and he was in the NBC comedy "Daddio". What do you think of Michael's portrayal of corrupt cop and tough guy, Vic Mackey? Love him, he is what drew me to the show in the first place. He just kicks ass in the role, I don't think anyone else could have done it anywhere near as good.9. Could "The Shield" survive if Michael Chiklis left the show? Which actor would have the best chance of saving the show if Chiklis left? There is no way The Shield would survive without Chiklis. If he left the show couldn't be saved, they'd have to write him out in the final episode ever.10. Reading and hearing about police brutality and police corruption, what do you think about law enforcement in real life? In your opinion, what percentage of real cops think they are above the law? I think most cops think they're above the law. If not above the law then they think they're a helluva lot better than the rest of us. I had the cops called on me for sitting in my car in an industrial area eating some KFC for dinner. I was doing nothing wrong, I was there for about 10 minutes before the cops showed up. They asked me what I was doing to which I replied eating dinner. They asked who's car it was.... mine. They took my license and checked me out. After a few minutes they came back to me and said are you going home when you've finished eating, I hadn't intended to go home straight away, but said yes, I watched them drive off and come to a stop not far from where I was parked waiting for me to leave. I was surprised they didn't breatholise me or search the car for drugs or something.... I don't hear of a lot of police brutality cases in Australia, a few, but not really a lot, which doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. As for corruption, I don't think there'd ever be a cop who hadn't toyed with the idea... If I were a cop, I'd probably be corrupt!11. What, in a nutshell, is your overall view of the American criminal justice system? I can only comment on what I've seen in such shows as Law & Order. I think any criminal justice system of any country has its flaw, but we'd be screwed worse without it.12. New question: How did you come up with your screen name (in cases where it's not obvious, right CHIKchick? ) My screen name comes from being Australian and my first name is Angela so I shortened it to Angel

Aussieangel, I changed your font color a bit as well, by adding a twist of lime to your green--my eyes ain't what they used to be.
And here I thought your screen name came from the fact that you are an angel. Then I find out you were being questioned by the police! I thought you were gonna say the cops wanted to arrest you for the way you were licking your fingers. ;D Geez, you must live in a real safe place if the cops have nothing better to do.
