SF Giants' 'Until There's A Cure' gamewww.ebar.com/news/article.php?sec=news&article=1024The San Francisco Giants' 13th annual "Until There's A Cure Day" takes place Sunday, July 23 at AT&T Park. Pre-game ceremonies start at 12:30 p.m. and include members of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, volunteers forming a giant red ribbon, and special guest, actress CCH Pounder from the FX series The Shield, who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The Giants take on the San Diego Padres at 1:05 p.m. The first 10,000 fans will receive a commemorative pin. The Giants Community Fund also will award a total of $80,000 to various groups that work on HIV/AIDS research and provide support services. The Until There's A Cure Foundation will have its bracelet available for purchase. The Giants became the first professional sports team to host an AIDS benefit in 1994, when it teamed up with the Until There's A Cure Foundation. Since then, a total of $1.1 million has been raised for Bay Area organizations and international AIDS research efforts.
