Clark Johnson, who has directed a few eps of The Shield (including Pilot), directs and has a small role in the just-released The Sentinel with Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland - I saw it last night and it's pretty good - I didn't even know CJ was associated with it until the opening credits - Eva Longoria is also in in it and does okay - I wish they'd bring Clark back to direct one of these last Shield eps - he has a great way with action

Clark Johnson is one of the best TV directors on the planet. Hell, he directed the pilots for both The Shield and The Wire, two of the best cop dramas of all time. With both those shows, he established the blueprint that all future directors for those shows would follow. Not to mention that he directed several key episodes of Homicide while still a castmember. If this is the last season of The Shield, I'd really like to see him come back and direct the last few episodes. Now with Scott Brazil sadly departed, Clark is probably the best director for the show.

yeah - even though it's a by-the-numbers sort of thriller the acting and direction elevate it to a higher level (but I saw it for free so take that into consideration - maybe go for a matinee showing, ha ha)
let me know what you think
