Wow She has not been relevant since 89? did I mention I don't like Glen Close? Ok, Badcop, enough of the Glenn Close-bashing! < I can change your rank to "Ass-suck" you know... >
She hasn't been "relevant"? You obviously don't realize that she's been busy with broadway work, production, and numerous parts in other movies. I can think of A LOT of actors/actresses who haven't been nominated for an Oscar at all!!
Like her or not...Glenn Close is a Hollywood legend, in love, and stinking rich. I don't think she lies awake at night fretting about her Shield gig, which I thought was well done for the flavor of that particular season. And *relevant* is also an Emmy nomination! More importantly, she's growing older with style and grace and having fun doing it.
Glenn's latest "role" is the voice of Granny in HOODWINKED:
[If I heard correctly in a trailer for this film, Granny/Glenn says "I'm a different kind of Granny!"]
GLENN CLOSE (Granny)
Multiple award-winning actress Glenn Close joined the cast of FX’s groundbreaking drama “The Shield” this past season, as “Captain Monica Rawling,” a street cop who has risen through the ranks and has returned to Farmington with an agenda. For her performance she has received an Emmy nomination as “Best Actress in a Drama Series.”
Close also starred this year in three films, all of which premiered at the January 2005 Sundance Film Festival: “Heights,” a contemporary comedy of manners set in New York City and Brooklyn from director Chris Terio and producers Merchant Ivory; “Chumscrubbers,” a darkly satiric piece from writer/director Arie Posen with Jamie Bell, Ralph Fiennes and Rita Wilson; and “Nine Lives,” an ensemble piece from writer/director Rodrigo Garcia with a cast that includes Kathy Baker, Holly Hunter, Sissy Spacek and Robin Wright Penn. “Nine Lives” recently received the Golden Leopard, top prize at the Locarno International Film Festival and its ensemble cast was presented with an unprecedented, collective Best Actress Award.
On television, Close starred last year with Patrick Stewart in “The Lion in Winter,” a special miniseries presentation by director Andrei Konchalovsky for Showtime/Hallmark Entertainment. For her performance as “Eleanor of Aquitaine” in the miniseries, she won the Golden Globe ® and SAG Best Actress awards, and was nominated for an Emmy .
Close served as executive producer, and won an Emmy ® Award, for her 1995 performance as “Col. Margarethe Cammermeyer” in “Serving in Silence,” which also garnered a Peabody Award and Golden Globe nomination. She has received five additional Emmy nominations for roles in the telefilms “In the Gloaming” (for which she also earned a Screen Actors’ Guild Award nomination and a Cable Ace Award); “Something About Amelia”; “Sarah, Plain and Tall” (as executive producer, she also received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for Best Made for Television Movie); “Skylark,” the second telefilm in the Sarah trilogy, which she also executive produced; and for a guest-starring role in the comedy series “Will and Grace.” Other television starring/executive producer credits include Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “South Pacific” and “The Ballad of Lucy Whipple.”
Close served as executive producer on “Journey” and “Baby,” both for Hallmark Hall of Fame as well as for “Broken Hearts, Broken Homes” and was the associate producer on the documentary “Do You Mean There Are Still Real Cowboys?”
Additional television film credits include “Stones For Ibarra,” “A Brush With Fate,” HBO’s “Strip Search,” directed by Sidney Lumet and “Andrew Lloyd Weber: The Royal Albert Hall Celebration,” in which she was featured. She has made guest appearances on “The Simpsons” and “Ellen.”
Close received a Crystal Award for Women in Film in 2001 for her distinguished acting career. In 2003, she received an IFP Gotham Award for her significant contributions to the New York independent filmmaking community.

I vote for the "Ass-Suck" rank. Anyone else want to bump this so we at least have one "Ass-Suck" member? While you're at it, can I be "Stuck-In-Tulips-Knockers"? --Dan

Dan-if you like "ass suck" so much you can have it. I would simply be happy if "not a pimp" was removed. Or if we are going to get to make requests how about "B.M.F" ?(Bad Mutha F%cka) In another thread I simply had asked about the lines in the avatar, then I became "not a pimp" Hey CC how about just eliminating that entire line for me huh? Thank you.
