Great article, icy...thanks. I especially liked this part below because I was just thinking over the w/e about how much Vic is like a Shakesperean tragic hero:
Vic's predicament makes the series “better than ever” in its fifth season, Landgraf says. “Shawn has created a true Shakespearean tragedy writ over an extended number of seasons. If you look at Shakespeare's anti-heroes, they're never more appealing than in the final throes of their journey.”
I was also impressed with the depth of Chiklis' understanding of his character--in addition to his unbelievable portrayal, of course.
But most of Shakespeare's characters had one major flaw that denied their greatness, whereas Vic seems to have several. What do you guys think is Vic's greatest flaw?
