CCH Pounder (Carol Christine Hilaria Pounder, her birth name) has released her first solo album!!!
=============================
"Smoke" is an eclectic blend of Pop, Soul, R&B, and Spoken-word. CCH Pounder's stylized and dynamic vocals take you though a musical journey of rhythms, rhymes and imagery. CCH is a powerful vocalist that has mastered many styles and is richly multicolored, carrying the listener through a kaleidoscope of listening experiences, unified by passionate vocals throughout her stylized performances. CCH Pounder is best known for her starring performances as an actress in movies such as: "End of Days", "The X-Files", "Face Off", "All That Jazz", "I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can", and her legendary role in "Baghdad Cafe." ..to name just a few..."
You can listen to samples at the Official CCH Pounder Website, where I found the above description of her album. Flash required. Along the bottom menu bar of her website, click on the word "Smoke," then on 'Open' to see the playlist. I particularly like her cover of Bob Marley's "No Woman, No Cry" and "Smoke The Hukka, (hip hop)"

She is currently filming "Tough Like Wearing Dreadlocks." Watch the Flash required intro to the film at the Official TLWD Website. This romance/drama is directed by Ayanna Maharry, and is scheduled for release this year.
An interesting sidenote: Tangi Miller, who played Claudette's daughter, Rebecca Wyms in the episode, "Throwaway" (episode # 1.9), is also on the cast list for "Tough Like Wearing Dreadlocks," along with Robert Guillaume, Omar Gooding, and Bill Erwin.

"I’m an international small town girl," Pounder proclaims, as she details her life, which began in Guyana, South America. She was raised on a sugar cane estate and each day she took a taxi, then a boat and finally a school bus to receive her education. "I clearly remember my first introduction to the theater," states Pounder, "It was a Kabubi rendition of The Tea House Of The August Moon and I was mesmerized."
When Pounder's parents moved to the United States, they sent their two girls to a convent boarding school in Sussex, England. In England, Pounder was introduced to poetry, painting and drama, most especially the classics. Holidays were spent with guardian families in England and France and Pounder, through the diverse ethnic friendship she formed in school, was introduced to multiple cultures.
After graduating from high school, she entered Hastings College of Arts in Sussex but soon left and moved permanently to the U.S. to be with her family, which by now.... <<snip>>
