Maybe someday, but I just really want this thread to come back around to its topic -- Danny and how this baby is going to change her life and carreer.
What about all you guys?? How did your kids change your lives... moms AND dads....

Maybe someday, but I just really want this thread to come back around to its topic -- Danny and how this baby is going to change her life and carreer. What about all you guys?? How did your kids change your lives... moms AND dads.... Where do I start? Well, something happened here the other day that prompted my daughter to say "now I understand why you won't let me out by myself, even in our neighborhood": a 10-yr-old girl went for a walk by herself. She was abducted and found hours later, her body wrapped in a blanket near a strip mall trash dumpster. She had been sexually assaulted and then strangled. The town is in shock. It was a guy who lived on the same block. I don't want to even take the chance--too many crazies out there. I didn't mean to post something that is such a downer. This is more "True Crime" material. I've raised a stepdaughter from age 3 to adulthood and two of my own (one is a work in progress). I'm surprised at how the technology has changed. I still remember putting the plastic bottles in boiling water so they could be reused for formula. For our first, we used cloth diapers, for the second we went to disposables. I worked one summer with a guy who was an engineer employed by a company that manufactures diapers. It was fascinating to hear about the technology in diapers--mainly focused on what you'd expect: absorbancy and ability to handle stress loads, adhesives, etc.--all without causing discomfort or rashes, etc., to the infant.

That's awful, chem. Wow.... there are sick people out there and you have to protect your kids no matter what.... I would go on a murderous rampage if anything like that ever happened to my little girl!
Danny knows all too well what can happen on the streets of Farmington.... how might this affect the way she raises Lee? And what if Danny wants to raise Lee with some other guy (this idea was proposed in another thread)? What if Lee calls the other guy "Daddy?" How will Vic fit in to the picture?

I hope I can speak as a non-parent here...when I drive to work, I pass two schools. I would not let my kid walk to school, even in this small town. I see some "attractive" kids walking alone, totally vulnerable, and I think how easy it would be for some pervert to snatch one. If I had a kid, I would drive them everywhere.
