I don't remember if this was ever answered... when do the Season 6 DVDs get released? Also, what is the premiere date?
Thanks!

Have they finished shooting season 7 yet?

My calculations would put them at just being finished, or they are almost done. Probably wrapped. Imagine how emotionally disturbing for cast & crew!

According to Zap2it.com, the new season of Nip/Tuck is 22 episodes, which would put anything new on Tuesdays at 10 starting April 8.
If I had to guess, I can see one of five things happening:
1) The Shield starts April 8, 2008 in the Tuesday 10p slot after full season of Nip/Tuck. 2) The Shield starts earlier in a Wednesday or Thursday at 10p slot. 3) Nip/Tuck's fifth season gets split in half (a la Shield season 5a/5b) and The Shield starts in late January on Tuesdays at 10 4) Nip/Tuck's fifth season gets split in half and the Shield starts late April/early May after 13-ep season of another show. 5) Shield starts July 8, 2008 (after full season of NT and 13-ep season of another show)
If you made me pick, I'd say either April 8 or July 8. What do you think?? Is FX ready to make the fans wait until July??

If they are on schedule, then they still have a few more weeks of shooting (early to mid November)... bet no one is looking forward to the end! I don't imagine the season 6 DVD will be released too soon. If FX were smart they'd get it out for Christmas -- but they didn't do it last time so why would they wise up this time around?!

Really. I believe FX would make us wait until after Nip/Tuck, hell yeah they would. And you know, I understand. I don't like it. But I understand. (Kind of)

Whats the deal with having all their big shows on a tuesday? Now personally I dont care what day its on but I really think they're just making it harder for us as fans.

They seem to be moving away from Tuesday only thing. They ran Rescue Me on Wednesdays and The Riches on Mondays. However, Tuesdays are kind of the signature night for The Shield. I think if they were going to run the show in January, they would've announced it by now, or at least a DVD date. I think we're looking at March at the earliest.
These delays annoy me. When HBO had them, at least they were due to ACTUAL production delays, but once they had the show in the can, they got it on the air in a timely manner. As far as I can see, no such delays have existed with The Shield. It's been an efficient production, but FX is just delaying the airing of it.

If I had to guess I would say that the new season isn't going to start until April and that the dvd set for season 6 won't come out until the end of March. Season 5 dvd set was released about a week before season 6 started, so I think they will follow that same system. It would be nice if it came out around Christmas, but I doubt that.

I dont mind waiting till April but I dont think putting it on that late/close to summer is gonna help ratings or whatever, probably make it worse like last season. Why dont they do the right thing and send TS off like it began at the perfect time in january. It just makes so much sense, its mind boggling how FX wont allow it in a better slot than April. Everynody knows ratings were terrible because of that decision and its only gonna get worse if it happens again

My parents always give me TS for the holidays or my birthday (2/26 ) I'd rather get it for the holidays and have TS's new season around my birthday...give or take a week or two.

That was from a long time ago though and things change pretty quickly unfortunatly. I have a question for people who have been around for every season in the States, when abouts do FX announce the date they are going to air the show. Is it a month before or 2 months before? I have no idea but if somebody knew it might give everybody an indication of when

If I remember right, they put a teaser ad on during Nip/Tuck after Thanksgiving sometime last year.

But with the writer's strike, SR has already said that the final ep will be delayed as it's not done or edited yet, or he is going to wait until the strike is over with, right? Or did I just dream that up?

I'll try to find out from Adam when I get a chance. I've been meaning to email him anyway, to see how / what he's doing. I might not be able to send the email until next week, though, unfortunately ... damn job.
