Hello everyone! I'm new to the board and a huge fan of the Shield. I had a quick question about this season. I was reading on another message board that this season of the Shield is 21 episodes, which will be broken into two parts. With the first part being whats airing now, and the second part airing in January of 2007. I was wondering if this is true? And if not do we know yet whether the show will be back for another season?
Thanks, Jillian

Yes, it looks like it is the case. Part 1 is 11 episodes, the cast is now on a short break, the writers have already started episode 12, and in January 2007 they will start to air. We do not know about the DVD release situation, if this Part 2 will be called Part 2 or Season 6, nor do we know if this is the last season. But we do know that there are only 11 episodes right now and 12-21 in January.

We do not know for sure that the air date for the back 10 is Jan. 07. That's what we've heard but it's never been officially confirmed.

Meh, says postpartum is the 'season finale'. Dunno what that implies.

It implies that FX thinks of these 11 episodes as Season 5. Will they call the next 10 eps "Season 6?"

I hope the second part of the season comes back sooner than 2007. I also hope that after that part of the season it comes back for another season. This is one of the few shows even worth watching at all. However I cant see a good way to end this series. I kind of wish there was another season like the first season. Alot of internal conflicts and some good cases for dutch. Mabey he could nab another serial killer or somthing. There are too many things that the writers could suprise us with to end the series with these 21 eps. However I wish that if there is a season 6, that no one tries to bring down the strike team again.
