is it really that easy to break through doors after they are locked?
I dont want to critique little things like this, but it just got me thinking.
In the Homewreckers episode in Season 2 I believe, vic went into the apartment to talk to the guy that had connie hostage and he locked the door. Then later on shane comes thru the door pretty easily and it didnt look like the door frame got broken. Are they really that easy to break down?
Sorry if its a lame subject but its been on my mind lately!
btw, this is my first post!

I know Mythbusters tested that on a show but it's been awhile.

I took the opportunity to give this a try recently. In the house that I was renting for University the handle on the bathroom door became detatched from the latch mechanism while the door was shut, meaning that the bathroom door was unopenable. I thought to myself that this would be a good opportunity to pretend that I was a cop, so I ran at the door and kicked underneath the handle, hoping to smash the latch through the door frame on the other side. It didn't work, but it was a lot of fun, so I tried a couple more times to no avail. Eventually, my friend shoulder-barged it and went flying through into the bathroom.
Baring in mind that I'm about 125 pounds and he's about 200 its not surprising that I couldn't break it and he could.
Back to the original question, I'd say that someone like Vic or Lem wouldn't have much trouble with a door, but it all depends on what type of door it is - the door I tried to bust down was only being held by a wooden frame - I'd imagine that most front door frames are much stronger.

We should also factor in the door was located in a somewhat cheap and old apt. complex, so I won't be surprised that it wasn't Shane-proof... One of their raids did involved an re-enforced door (brothel with Shane and Tavon as undercover) that had to be opened from the inside...

Yea. Two-time's crib in the Pilot also had a reinforced door, so they had to go in through the window.
Its nice to know that, for all the kicking in of doors they do, they do acknowledge the fact that some doors are cop-proof.

It's not an easy task to knock a door down.
In a situation where you're hyped up on adrenaline, it can make a bit easier, but as other's have said, it really depends on what type of door you're talking about.
Even when you have a battering ram (or a hook and ram), it's no guarantee that the door is going to come down.
