Hey there,
I'm from Canada, so I'm not too sure with policing in the U.S. I was just wondering what a 'Vice Unit' is and what are their responsibilities.
Seeing how that's Shane's new unit, I was wondering how that would interfere with Vic and Rawlings' new plan.
Also what is Lem doing now? What is his unit/job?

Not exactly sure on Vice - but i think it will more the specific assignment and work that Shane does which will have an impact on Vic's work; I bet Vic and Rowling get buddy-buddy once Rowling realizes Shane is getting in the way of the Antwan collar.
Lem is on youth services now, working with kids, etc. I bet he's back w/ Vic by ep. 3.

Welcome, welcome Shaka!! How did you find us? We're glad to see you!
Good questions on vice assignments. Who knows, maybe Shane is covertly playing Vic because he's already confessed to someone? I find it hard to believe a family man, with a new baby, would be so crazed and reckless.

Just to answer your question, CHIK chick, I found this place from the referral on FX's Shield Website.
It is more familiar to me than the forum on the site.
Well since no one's really sure on what a vice unit does, I guess we'll have to see in the coming weeks.
Another question: does anyone know if FX shows a new episode every single week...for 13 consecutive weeks?

I believe that's what FX will do, as usual when the new season runs. I sure wish they had more than 13 eps, though!
Wouldn't it have been cool if the opener had been a two-hour episode?? <wishful thinking>
On your question about "vice"... I don't know what Shane's assignment might be, but generally vice units focus on things like prostitution, bootlegging of alcohol or smokes, loan sharking, that sort of thing. Some of that activity gets its own separate unit so I think it depends on the city budget and the scale of the vice itself.

Hey there, I'm from Canada, so I'm not too sure with policing in the U.S. I was just wondering what a 'Vice Unit' is and what are their responsibilities. My understanding of Vice has always been the units that often have undercover officers (as well as detective types) that deal with the drug/prostitution/etc. type crimes. I'd have to look it up just to make sure but that's the basis if I remember correctly. I've viewed the Strike Team as a sort of mercenary type vice squad. ;-) Ky
