"Terriers" As opposed to pit bulls? My first thought was that this was a show about rouge dog groomers. ========================================= Shawn Ryan sets 'Terriers' at FX 'Shield' creator's new pilot is an hourlong comedy By Nellie Andreeva June 9, 2009, 11:24 PM ET Shawn Ryan is back at FX with a new pilot. The network has given a green light to "Terriers," an hourlong comedic private-eye show from "The Shield" creator Ryan and "Ocean's Eleven" writer Ted Griffin. The project, from Fox21, centers on two PI partners with maturity issues who solve crimes while trying to avoid danger and responsibility. The idea came from Griffin, a "Shield" fan who penned an episode of the gritty FX cop drama. Griffin wrote "Terriers" and is executive producing the pilot with Ryan. Ryan mentioned the idea for "Terriers" to FX topper John Landgraf last summer during a chance hallway meeting. "I could see his eyes brightening up," Ryan said. "It was a lucky break because that's an area he wanted to mine next." The network quickly bought the project and put it on the fast track. "Terriers" is the first pilot developed at Ryan's MiddKid Prods. under the writer-producer's rich overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Marney Hochman-Nash serves as MiddKid's president of development. At FX, "Terriers" joins two other pilots in various stages of production: the untitled Elmore Leonard drama, starring Timothy Olyphant, and the Holt McCallany starrer "Lights Out."

tv.ign.com/articles/100/1009177p1.htmlMore info July 30, 2009 - Donal Logue will star in the new television project from two impressive names – The Shield creator Shawn Ryan and Ocean's Eleven writer Ted Griffin. The Hollywood Reporter says that Logue (Life) will play the lead in Terriers, a new FX pilot. An hour-long project with a comedy bent, Terriers will feature Logue as ex-cop Hank, who forms a private detective agency with his best friend – though the immature duo tend to "solve crimes while trying to avoid danger and responsibility." - Steve Granitz/WireImage.comDonal LogueThe Reporter describes Hank as "an affable, talkative fellow who's not always the best liar but is adept at adopting different personas to find out information. He is alarmed by what he perceives as signs of his encroaching senility." Griffin wrote the Terriers script, and he and Ryan will executive produce together

the 'untitled' Timothy Olyphant show is called Lawman and has been picked up for a season - I think it gets a Tuesday night time slot - seems to be basically his Deadwood character set in modern times but in a backwards rural area

We have plenty of backwards rural areas to pick from in OK if they want to film Lawman here. In fact, the urban areas are pretty backward, too.
Lawman piques my interest more than the new SR project on FX, though I'll give it a try just because SR is involved. Doesn't USA network already have two shows more or less like that?

Terriers was given the green light last week - FX picked it up for its first season based on the pilot starring Donal Logue (who is a really nice guy, btw - I met him at the Sherman Oaks Guitar Center - he was there buying a guitar for his young son and I spoke to him for about 15 minutes) - nothing though about Walton's new show - not sure they have completed the pilot yet

^what is Waltons new show? I have heard nothing about it. Got any details? actually, my mistake, it's on AMC, not FX - I can't remember the name of it - he told me when I talked to him at the pre-Emmy nominations meet-and-greet with the Sons of Anarchy and Shield casts but I forget it - he was going to write and produce I believe - apparently he is going to be in the new Predator movie directed by Robert Rodriguez (this almost assuredly means another Walton death scene, ha ha)

Wasn't Walton supposed to be the middle of a prison drama series? I heard rumors about that about a year ago, but never found anything new about that. Maybe the idea was pulled or not seen viable or it was just a fake story. I actually had something like that in my mind too around that time so that is why I kept remembering it, but maybe that's not where you want to point to.
