Hi! My name is Catrena but my friends call me Doc because I had my PhD in Chemistry at the age of 26. I am from the Okefenokee Swamp region of Georgia but currently live near Macon in middle GA. I have four children - Chico, Copper, Cozmo and Cookie - none of the two-legged kind yet. As for The Shield...I have been a fan since the beginning of Season 1. I come from a family of cops and everyone is addicted to the show. I am glad I found TSR so I can hopefully learn more about my favorite show! Until next time, ~Doc~

Someone has to say it and it might as well be me ... "what's up, doc?" Definitely not run-of-the-mill names you gave your kids. You didn't mention your husband's name. Was having it start with a "C" a requirement?
actually, we have some things in common as you can tell from my screen name. I also lived in Georgia for a few months while I worked at UGA. I loved Athens and all the ante-bellum stuff around it. Once I rode my bicycle out to Madison, Georgia. You probably already know this, but Madison is the only town in GA that Sherman did not burn on his march to the sea in the Civil War ... rumor has it that it was because he had a gf there, heh.

Thanks for the welcome! My first three dogs were named already when I adopted them from the Animal Rescue in Atlanta and Macon. So when the last one came around, of course I had to name him with a "C". As for my husband, I tried to get him to change his name from John to something with a C but it did not work. Madison and Milledgeville were both "so beautiful" that Sherman spared them in his march through GA. I too have read that it was the beauty of a lady that saved Madison. I love the small ante-bellum towns here and each one has its own history and story. The local college bought and restored the original Governor’s Mansion in Milledgeville and it is quite beautiful but unfortunately for most Georgians, Milledgeville will always been known for the mental hospitals and prisons. You should hear some of the stories from the locals. One of my favorite things to do here is to attend the “story-telling” sessions that they hold sometimes at the museum. I was not familiar with the ante-bellum stories of middle GA until I moved here…I was used to the “swamp tales” down in south GA. I have to tell you...I am not a UGA fan! I went to Georgia Tech - so I am a Yellow Jacket at heart! However, Athens is a blast and the music that comes from Athens is incredible! A few years back I went to a southern rock concert there and they had bands like Drive By Truckers…talk about some good beer drinking music! Anyway, thanks again for the welcome!

Hey, Doc! You are a girl like me who loves pets who need loved! All my pets have been rescued. Without chicks like us, where would our animals friends be, eh?
Funny thing, I have met quite a few nurses and they tend to be the pet rescuing type, as well. LOL I guess it takes someone who has a heart for animals, as well as people.
So glad you decided to come to our little forum!
