Hi there, i've been a huge fan since ep 1, don't post too often but i usually come back and read about what's going on... i've been living in Vegas for almost 2 years now, i'm originally from NY. I'm married, with 2 kids, love heavy metal music, non-pc comics and going out and having a good time. anyway, I love this site and am so glad there are so many shield fans around... i'm so hoping that they bring back Tavon...

still getting used to the heat, first time it hit 110 degrees, i thought i would pass out. it's true the heat is different without the humidity but holy cow...once it starts to get as high as 110, 115 degrees, you just wanna hit in a freezer somewhere...lol

I LURRRVE Vegas! I'm used to the humidity, so coming from NC to Vegas was actually pleasant. Besides, when you're in Vegas, you really don't need to be outside for any length of time. Well, from the cab to the front door of the casino is the most I ever really had to deal with when I was there the two times I visited. Vegas is awesome; you guys should visit!
But I don't know how I would deal living there. So what's the job market like there? Cost of living? Crime? Maybe I'll retire there and play the nickel slots 'til I die...
BTW, welcome to the most FABulous board, besides Kenny's board (sorry, guys, gotta suck up to my sweetie, Kenny).

the job market is not that great, i got a transfer from my position in NY so i still get my NY paycheck. If i were to work from here my paycheck would probably be half of what i'm getting now. The cost of living is much cheaper in Vegas than in NY so i'm liking it here. We were having such a hard time just keeping our heads above water in NY, but here i can breathe and actually enjoy myself and not worry about how i'm going to pay my bills. As for crime, considering that the population of Las Vegas is less than 1 million people, crime is pretty bad. Like anywhere else, you learn to deal with it and avoid the areas that you know are not safe. All in all, i'm happy here and don't have any plans of moving away...

Thats cool. Is there much to do in Vegas besides the touristy stuff? I've been on the strip and not really anywhere else. And you can't see a whole lot from the jet flying over. Very interesting town...
And I hear the same complaints about NY all the time from NY'ers who've moved to NC.
