From pifeedback.com:
The Shield (FX) - 1.968 million viewers - 1.3/2 HH - 0.9/3 A18-49
So, it seems to be stabilizing at about 2 million viewers. Ratings-wise this is the worst season ever.

That's what happens when people can view two episodes in advance by looking hard enough. I could barely handle one, and now they're going at a rate of two unseen eps a week. I still watch the show at regular times, but damn...
Whoever let that deal fall through needs their ass kicked. Does FX even care anymore now that the 7th season is inked?

Can't blame the French. The ratings were way down before the French ever started airing them.

Oh, I see you saw my original post (Gotta love the French... that was it). Sorry for the ninja edit. But these advance viewings have some bearing on the ratings. With episode 1, FX wasn't advertising nearly as much as before.

FX totally blew it on this show, but i imagine they don't care since everything is ready to go on the 7th and final season.

It depends who you mean by 'they' If 'they' is FX, since they sell advertising based on the rating I imagine they do care. If 'they' is Shawn Ryan and co, then yeah they probably dont care that much since, as you said, season 7 is a done deal.

Notice FX doesn't even put effort into the previews anymore. They used to be real intense with a lot of flashing scenes and then you could find it on their website. Now they string together a few scenes and just have the guy talk over it too much, like they spent all of 5 minutes on it. Not to mention putting in a major spoiler to make up for the lack of excitement, as is the case this week.

Yeah, I felt that spoiler was an obvious ploy to try and hook people in.
I liked when in past previews, they'd purposely cut together scenes that were misleading so that you thought you knew what might happen, but it turned out something else entirely occurred.

I liked that, though it jerked me around too much no matter how much I speculated.

ITA...in s1 when we really weren't sure if Terry lived or died, but TPTB played us like Terry lived, then come to find out he didn't...now that was advertising. ;D
