LOL whats funny is he thinks chicks in his car dig the music. You're right. I think it's just one of the little quirks that add to his character.

The 80's was probably the last time he got laid (did he get laid in S2?, I forget) I'm pretty sure he did in Season 3, can't remember who it was but it was the woman who was married to the cuddler rapist who had a British accent in Season 2, and then none in Season 3...

There was a little eye contact between those two, and Shawn Ryan and others in the commentary for S3 did acknowledge that under normal circumstances (i.e., Dutch not arresting the woman's husband for raping and murdering old ladies) something might have happened --but nothing actually happened.
He did managed to hook a girlfriend in S1 (Kim, the widow whose husband's murder Dutch and Shane solved in "Cupid and Psycho"), but she dumped him somewhere between S2 and S3.

I had to get used to Dutch when I first started watching the show. But now I love to watch him interact with the other characters especially billings. LOL.

LOL whats funny is he thinks chicks in his car dig the music. i agree totally, he thinks he's mr. smooth haha He totally blew his response to Tina when she asked "is this a date?". Mr. Smooth would not have said "Do you want it to be?" C'mon you "Mr. Smooths" out there ... what should Dutch have said? How about "no, this is fate" LOL. Now, to be fair to Dutch, you only get a split second to come up with a smooth reply ... no fair thinking about it for a long time.

What would have been REALLY funny is if it was some sort of soulful '70s swinger Boogie Nights/Barry White music. Hee hee. . .

I think it's adorable. I'd go out with Dutch. Luckily I don't own a cat, so there'd be no probs I always think its funny how Dutch is laughed at on the show (and in fandom?) for being a 'jerk'...yet he has more respect for women than most of the other male characters.

Problem is that women always seem to want the badass, the nerd or jerks get left behind.... Dutch is too committed to his job IMO! The 80s music is a killer. I was driving home from work the other day and Hungry Like the Wolf came on and I couldn't believe it, I laughed all the way home!! ;D

Dutch grows on me every year and I would go out with him in a flash. I'd even consider a relationship with him BUT I am guessing he's no dog in bed--and I admit that I prefer that to someone who's all touchy/feely, foreplay, whispers, "was it good for you?" [If it's good for me, my lover will have no doubt!!]
Hmmm, maybe this belongs in the Confessions thread!
