We all know that Lem and Shane are characters in "The Shield". We as fans were greatly influenced by the Shane/Lem death scene. Lem is gone from the show now. There is a lot of anger toward Shane. Glen M. himself has stated that the writers have expressed it will be difficult to write the show without Lem.
I wonder if Walt Goggins feels bad to some degree in real life because of fan reaction to his being "the bad guy". I know that actors are professionals...blah blah blah... But, it is kinda hard not to notice that there are RIP Lem things everywhere. And DIE SHANE...burn in hell, etc... Also, the end of "The Shield" still must be completed. Kenny Johnson was actually spared that awful sentence. He is moving on, already. Goggins must endure the end with Chiklis and he will be part of the end. (Probably not in a good way)
What do you all think? Do you think Goggins feels bad like Shane? A little guilt to carry around during the hiatus...

Excellent questions... you know he's gotta be catching shit. Like the chick who plays Mara...only times 100! Again, the mark of an actor who lives and breathes his craft! I admire Goggins all the more. HATE SHANE but love Walt!

HA! Reminds me of 1981 and The Empire Strikes Back. Billy Dee Williams couldn't go anywhere without kids yelling "You killed Han!". ROFL!

I wonder why it was decided that Lemon should die. I mean, Ronnie has always been the expendable character of the strike team. And yeah, do we assume that Goggins is a prick like Shane? I should find him and ask him.

Technically he didnt kill him, just got him frozen in that metal. Back to Shane....I hate Shane, but Walt Goggins does an amazing job playing him. I do wonder how many times a day if he is out and about someone says something not nice to him about killing Lem. And artied, I dont think that Ronnie has been an "expendable" character. None of the Strike Team members are, they all have their own role and part in the team. Vic-Leader Shane-resident screw up and #2 Lem-Good guy Ronnie-Geek(alot of the stuff theyve done and people they have arrested have been because of something geeky Ronnie could do.

Technically he didnt kill him, just got him frozen in that metal. "That metal" technically being carbonite. Heh heh heh, and I know he was not killed. My analogy was to how kids reacted to Billy Dee. Though he was still a Colt 45 pimp. Heh heh heh. PS - Who the hell let "artied" in here?! ;D

Please let me stay. I need a support group to get through the psychological damage of Lem dying. You're in good company, artied -- we're all (more or less) struggling with this wretched development..... If I were in Walt's shoes, I'd feel terribly guilty for causing such grief and somewhat proud I was able to do that. There's a new unspoken guideline for greeting fellow members here.... being rude for no good reason! I'm not sure why, but it helps with the tension we all feel over losing Lem. Maybe we're all just a bunch of twisted jerks. Or is it just me? Anyway, artied..... welcome to TheShieldRap, you freak! #jester#

FYI for the record, Artie-D is a good personal friend of mine that I turned onto The Shield a couple months back and pointed him here to TSR just yesterday. He's 100% caught up now thanks to my DVDs and downloads of S4 and 5.
I'm allowed to bust his balls.....besides, he likes it. ;-)

But also for the record, I haven't been this pissed/sad over a television show since the finale of Quantum Leap. Major props to all the writers, driectors, and actors of The Shield. And yes, Xanthais is a good friend, but has not et been able to offer a beer and a hug to comisserate Lem with me yet.
