Does anyone have any idea where Tavon is? Is he still in rehab like the described in S4? Have I missed any references in season 5?

The writers barely have time for Julien & Danny.

In my opinion he was a character who served his purpose plot-wise (helping split up the ST in Season 3) and so dissapeared.
I honestly have no idea why so many people consider him to be a "loose end".

I honestly have no idea why so many people consider him to be a "loose end". Umm, maybe because he was an employee of the PD and you'd think he'd at least show his face when his ass got out of the hospital. Also he always thought that Vic has "big plans" for him on the strike team, and I think he thought Vic genuinely liked him. So it is a Huge loose end

Umm, during S4 he was still in physical therapy. Plus, even if he were in good enough shape to do police work again, do you really think that he would want to work at the barn? He wanted to leave the ST because of Shane even before the fight. Now, he probably thinks that Shane hates him for hitting Mara. He's probably too ashamed to face Vic and Lem for the same reason.
These plans were dashed somewhat when Tavon was hospitalised. Again, Tavon wanted to leave the Strike Team even before he fought Shane.
Seriously, watch the whole Tavon arc, from 2x10 to his last episode at the end of Season 3. From the get-go the whole focus of his plot is that Vic and Lem respect him, but Shane doesn't like him. There's also the element that the Strike Team have to try to keep him from knowing about their illegal activities, but that's secondary as never really finds anything out.
Can you remember a single plot-point in his story arc that didn't revolve around the above?
He was less of a character himself, with his own storyline than he was a plot-device (albeit a good one) intended to develop tension between Vic, Shane, Mara and Lem, and to drive the already guilt-ridden Lem into burning the Money Train cash and leaving the Strike Team.
He could very well be worked in to the storyline of Season 5 as part of the IAD investigation somehow, but if he never re-appears then he leaves no unresolved plot threads.

i dont mind that he isnt in the shield anymore, but I dont like how there is an incomplete feeling to it. I know the mentioned him in S4, but they should at least put some closing to his arc.

I disagree in saying that he wasn't a developed character, or even that he wouldn't show his face in the barn. I think Tevon would want to apologize for the incident, especially since he believes he harmed Shane's girl. I also feel that Tevon felt wanted by Vic enough that he would at least attempt to make contact after he was able.
I really felt connected with Tevon, the outsider wanting in to an elite group...a fraternity if you will. Anyone who has ever bought into the fraternity idea (this includes myself) knows what it's like to want to be part of a very exclusive group, to the point where you see a lot of instances of blind following. I think Tevon bought into Vic and the ST. I believe he wanted to feel accepted, especially since he had some good gang connections, and wanted to help stop the kind of gang/drug violence the ST was founded to stop. Although, If I remember correctly, he asked for his walking papers, but I think he felt that Shane would never get over his Rednecked-Racist-Assed prejudices and accept him into that special organization. Ultimately, he confronted Shane about it, and Shane couldn't put his stupidity aside long enough to realize that Tevon could have been a very valuable piece of the pie.

I think the Strike Team needs to worry more about ARMY showing up (who knows what Kavanaugh might be getting from him?)
I would have liked to see some more about Tavon, too...but life does have these kinds of dead end stories. Maybe it is just a dose of Shield reality to let him evaporate.
Then again, many are speculating about what might happen if Kav interrogates Mara...could the fight with Tavon come out in that setting? I can see Kav filled with righteous indignation, saying, "So they not only killed Terry, they permanently disabled another cop? Another member of their own team? Look, Mara, how long do you think you'll last if they don't need you? Now tell me what I need to know..."

Then again, many are speculating about what might happen if Kav interrogates Mara... Kavanaugh:Mrs. Vendrell, would you like a stick of gum? Mara pulls an iron out of her over-sized purse. Kavanaugh:Um, exactly what is that for...? Mara:(pointing) Look over there..! WHACK!

I am willing to bet Tavon shows up. He will be shakey, maybe with a cane to steady himself, but he will stop by to say hello to the gang. Right now, he feels too much shame and guilt about what he "did" (which he never did, of course!) but that storyline is too important to be left unresolved or at least unaddressed. Like some of you have been saying, another nail in Vic's coffin!

I miss Tavon and definitely feel he is a loose end. Shane and Mara need to go down for that whole sordid affair, and they will. Anyway, Tavon was about the hottest ST member (although I am a Vic fan for life!).
