These things in "Jailbait" seemed just a little odd, but there might be good explanations for all of them: 1. it seemed unrealistic for Julien to call out Tina just because she asked the shopowner what time he came in. I would think uni's probably do get preliminary info for detectives, to "set the scene" but I don't know. 2. why would Vic ask for a search warrant for the crib of a dead guy? Did they think maybe someone else lived there, too? 3. isn't Tina's English a little too good (no accent) to do that sting? I thought the sex ring was supposed to use kids who were from Mexico--maybe I'm wrong.

Second episode Vic saw the girl looking out the window and automatically knew that she saw Doomsday earlier.

Hmmm, I thought Tina put on a little accent when she was talking to the Mexicans... have to rewatch the episode to confirm that, though. Another language issue: what about Vic's Spanish?!!? Has he forgotten all about it? I always had the feeling that Vic's Spanish was pretty good. I've never seen him having problems understanding or speaking Spanish. And now he needs Tina to translate what the "Trafficking Granny" says?!? Wasn't that odd?

2. why would Vic ask for a search warrant for the crib of a dead guy? Did they think maybe someone else lived there, too? Totally normal, chem. My detectives do it all the time. It's a case of cover your ass, and it's so much easier to not have to argue why you went into a place and possibly lose the evidence. And if that evidence got thrown out, anything that was a lead from the 'bad' evidence is considered 'fruit of the poisonous tree' and could also be inadmissable. Ooops, wouldn't that suck? Better safe than sorry. Also, back to the ring issue brought up a few posts ago - Kav was wearing the ring in the 5X03 hotel room scene with Aceveda. I'm beginning to think this isn't a nitpick thing, but instead it's a plot device. If it is, bravo to the writers for their attention to an amazing small detail! (And aren't we clever for spotting it!) ;D

I wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but I kept trying to make excuses in my head.

2. why would Vic ask for a search warrant for the crib of a dead guy? Did they think maybe someone else lived there, too? Maybe Vic caught a History Channel or possibly a Court TV special on the OJ Simpson case and didn't want to become the next Mark Furhman.

It's not all that strange; when thinking about this I recall when Vic was explaining his plan to the Coyote when he was getting forged documents for Gilroy, his Spanish was spoken very indecisively and he had to ask if he was clear. When talking to the grandma who couldn't speak any English other than asking for a lawyer, it's smart to have a translator so you don't miss any subtlety.

Scene where Vic is in Doyle's office: Vic says to Doyle "everything I'm about to say falls under atty-client privilege." She says "yeah, but it doesn't obligate me to take your case." Is that right? How can atty-client privilege apply before she accepts him as a client?

A person is considered a client as soon as they're in the lawyer's office. At the very least they are considered a 'potential client.' I think anything you say to an attorney in their office during office hours falls under privilege, whether there has been a retainer paid or not. This was the policy for the law office I worked for, anyway.

Here's something that my fiance' and I were discussing last night.
If Lem took the real tar, and IAD seized it, and replaced it with dummy tar, then it was the dummy tar that the ST gave to the gang (which one? my mind is fuzzy now), to make things right, and to keep them from going after Emolia.
What happened when they found out that the brick was dummy tar, and not the real thing?

In the last ep or 2 of S4, Gusano told Vic (in the interrogation room) about the fake tar. He said Vic still owes him a favor because he had to kick down 2 kilos to his man to make up for the 1 kilo of fake tar that Vic "returned" on Emolia's behalf.

I totally forgot about that, and don't have S4 on DVD, yet. Thanks! ~Diz

In Trophy, during the sting scene in the garage when they shot the Persian guy with blanks, he fell to the ground and rolled over onto his back. Didn't they tell him to lie on his stomach so that the Russian wouldn't see that there was no blood? As it turns out, it didn't matter bec. a split second later Kavenaugh came busting in.

Thats the reason Vic tells the Russian "just not in the face" Get it?

Ah ... I'll have to rewatch that scene. Heck, maybe Ronnie is technically savvy enough to do it Hollywood style, like in the movie FX (coincidentally). That was really a cool movie, IMO. It's a bit dated now but I remember a scene in which a filming crew (the crew was part of the movie--i.e., there was a movie within the movie) explained how bloody shootings are staged: a radio signal from a transmitter causes a receiver on the "victim" to rupture a bag of hidden fake blood. I don't remember the details but that was the gist of it. Anyone out there see FX? It came out 20 yrs ago and starred Brian Dennehy.

Yeah, I've seen it It was indeed a cool movie, at least it seemed that way 20 years ago! BTW, chemikalman, did you notice that your above post was your 666th?

Holy sh*t! Did you see the grave that guy dug? He should be a friggin sculptor! He's to gravedigging what wendig0 is to sigs (I'm hoping "flattery will get your everywhere" applies since I just asked wendig0 to redo my sig! ;D)

You mean from 5:05 Trophy? I noticed taht. The earth was cut as if an anthropologist had done it with a trowel and brush.... such precision! In defense of the medium, perhaps the visual of the square-cut grave was more appealing on screen.... ??
