As I've said, on Walt's myspace page, all kinds of classmates had come around looking for Walt...well, I struck up a conversation with more than one of them who are still in contact with Walt. This is a letter sent out to his friends, and two of them shared it with me. It's in the vein of being promotional, so anyone in the Atlanta area is supposed to be planning on seeing Randy & the Mob on the 21st of this month. Read the letter: (Glen and Kerry wanted me to repost it)
This came from Walt yesterday to some select friends that I have edited out for their privacy. I have the flyer that it mentions, but am not smart enough to get it on to this bulliten. I will see if I can recruit some help from our IT guy to get it posted, but in the mean time if you want me to send you the flyer, please just send me your email address and I will gladly send it to you!!
Whewwww.... Ok boys, this is it. I need your help. This is our movie... Leaner and cleaner since Nashville. We're coming to ATL on the 21st of September. Going to be in theaters at 5 different locations including town center and D'ville. Boys we need your help. I know you guys are going to be out of town for the golf trip but anybody, I mean anybody that you can get to come to one of these screenings would be so so helpful. From Print pack to IBM, Toni's friends to Daniels ex-wives, we can use them. Hell I'll even go to the Sheriff's dept. we all know them intimately. I'll be doing Questions and Answers at the Regal Tara downtown on Friday and Arbor Place in Douglasville on Saturday. If there is a group of people that you could get to come, especially in D'ville, I would be most grateful. Going to speak at LSHS on Thursday the 20th to get the word out. Hamp, Edwin and my mama are putting out posters and cards on the west side to let people know it's here. We filmed in Douglasville and Villa Rica!
We're going to be doing loads of press in Atlanta during the week of the 21st. This is our only chance to make a mark. if it doesn't perform well in Atlanta then I don't know how long ole randy and the Mob will be around. So I come to you hat in hand. I need your help.
Attached is the flyer with the places and the website. Please check it out...
Love to you all.
W
When I get the flyer, I will repost it

Damn, I wish I knew some people in Atlanta. Maybe I didn't read correctly, but is that the only place it'll be helpful to put fliers?
If September 11 hadn't made things so tight security-wise, I'd go to my local airport, find out who was going to ATL, and pass them out at the gate!

Thanks Tsarina! I am getting a group of friends together and driving up to Atlanta (about an hour away) to see the movie. I will definitely let you all know how it goes and maybe if I am lucky enough I will get a glimpse of Walton. How cool would that be?!?!? On a side note...I wanted to say that Tsarina's Walt Tribute page on myspace was how I found The Shield Rap...so props to Tsarina!

I wrote a letter for Kerry to give to Walt, and he sent it to Walt's mom this morning and she confirmed with Kerry that she sent it to Walt this morning. Cross your fingers for me!

Hey Tsarina...Glen that went to LSHS with Walt emailed me the letter and flyer, which I have forwarded to everyone I know and then some! I have distributed it to all my friends at GA Tech, GA State, and the CDC...I figured any little bit may help. Good luck with the letter to Walt! Let us know what you hear. And if anyone hears about the cast of 'Randy and The Mob' doing Q&A or autograph signings (times/places/etc...), please pass the info on. THANKS!

‘Shield’ star is calling on Sir Elton John By RICHARD L. ELDREDGE | Tuesday, September 4, 2007, 11:10 AM
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Here at Buzz Central, we normally resist requests to play matchmaker for a heterosexual guy with a girlfriend and a happily married gay man. However, when “The Shield” actor and former Lithia Springs boy Walton Goggins rang the BuzzBerry from the Los Angeles set of the gritty FX series, we were powerless to refuse his request — especially since he was brimming with “Shield” scoop for Buzz readers.
The Oscar winner, who took home the award for the short “The Accountant” in 2001 (with Ray McKinnon and Lisa Blount, his two fellow Georgian Ginny Mule Productions filmmakers), is headed back here Sept. 18 for the premiere of the trio’s new comedy “Randy and the Mob.”
Goggins wants to extend a personal invitation to fellow Oscar winner and part-time Atlantan Sir Elton John to join him and the other celebs at the glitzy Atlantic Station premiere.
“I first met Elton the night we won the Oscar and suddenly we were at every party in Hollywood,” Goggins told Buzz. “He was so sweet and generous with his time. It was surreal since I’ve been an out-of-the-closet Elton John fan since my teens.”
Since John is a savvy film buff, Goggins feels certain that the pop star will respond favorably to the Southern Gothic black comedy that “teaches humility and tolerance and a strong sense of family.”
As for his triple-crossing cop character Shane Vendrell on “The Shield,” there’s good news: “We’re shooting episode seven of the seventh season today, and I’m still here, buddy!” Goggins said. “But we’re all watching our backs. It’s frenetic. The writing this season is as good and as twisting and as rich as ever. It’s a pleasure to play, especially with the actors I get to work with here.”
While Goggins doesn’t know if Shane will make it out of the season breathing, he speculated: “Let’s just say I paid off my car, and I refuse to get a new one. It’s probably prudent to be frugal right now. I’m dodging bullets here as we speak!”

Walton was on Good Day Atlanta this morning and you can see his interview at www.myfoxatlanta.com/myfox/ under the Entertainment section. The world premiere of Randy and the Mob is TONIGHT at Atlantic Station in Atlanta and opens in select theaters on Friday. Pass the word on so hopefully the movie has a good turnout!

Walt's friend talked to Walt last night at the movie after party, told him about me (again) and found out that Goggins has been signing onto myspace with a pseudonym and checking the site out regularly. Still waiting to hear from him. He's been busy....I still have hope! Makes me wonder who he is here and there.

I'm in Iowa. This is how you post them: 1. Create a photobucket account. 2. Upload photos 3. Copy & paste the bottom link they offer you under the photo into a message and post it. Voila!
