I didn't watch and don't usually watch award shows, but I read in the paper that FW did win the GG best actor in a motion picture drama for The Last King of Scotland. I would have liked to see him receive the award. Let's see how he does in the Oscars. I don't watch these shows because it pisses me off to see actors from my favorite show get snubbed year after year, except after TS's first season. Here are the nominees and winners: www.hfpa.org/nominations/index.htmlAt least I can see Hugh Laurie winning because he is really good in House, and though I like Kyra Sedgwick in The Closer ... best actress in a TV drama? ... come on, folks. I know they're are many talented actors and someone has to win, but for The Shield to not even be NOMINATED in ANY category--farce. And, okay, Meryl Streep is a good actress, but I'm goddamned sick of her winning all these awards -- she's not THAT good. Or put it this way, there are others who deserve to win.

The Hugh Laurie acceptance speech was great, check out youtube to watch it. House is a great show but I am still counting down the days to the Shield return.

Hey, thanks for that tip. Hugh was on Letterman about a month ago and I fell asleep just before he came on--I really wanted to see what he was like out of character, so the youtube vid gave me an idea. I was very surprised that he has a British-sounding accent--he hides it so well on House that I had no idea!

While I was at youtube I watched the acceptance speech of Sacha Baron Cohen, who won for "Borat ...". That was pretty funny, too, and in keeping with the grossness of the movie. I haven't seen it, but was thinking about it, and youtube has a clip of the film's 1st four minutes. What a great site youtube is!

I had no clue that her Nip/Tuck voice is nothing like he real one. I was very surpised when she was doing an interview. As for the Golden Globs, Good job F.W. now haul you King of Scotland and Good Morning Vietnam ass down to the studio and record some commentary for S5.

F.W. was on Inside the Actors Studio recently and I watched the whole thing waiting for some mention of the Shield...but nothing. Oh well. If I remember right it was difficult for the crew to get Glenn Close in for a commentary session. It is probably a challenge trying to get actors who are no longer on the project and are busy doing other things, but I thought for sure that they would get it for "Kavanaugh".

I didn't catch the award show either but did see a clip of FW's acceptance speech. He seemed very grateful and humbled. He's a great actor because it seemed so different from the a$$hole I was used to seeing him as.

Yeah i saw The Last King Of Scotland and Forest was great!! vary cool to see a deserving actor win. He was vary humble giving his speech you could tell it meant alot to him. Hugh Laurie winning for house was great though. It of course is not THE SHIELD!!!! But if you have never seen it give it a chance his character is just great.

The guy that plays Christian also has a thick accent as well. Aren't they both from Australia? Or is Joley from the UK?

I've never seen Julian McMahon in anything other than Nip/Tuck so I'm not sure. Joely Richards is from the UK though.
Who ever was in charge of making the choice of when The Last King of Scotland was going to be released is a f*cking geinus. Waiting untill after FW got the award is brillant if you ask me.

Glenn Close was on conference call from NY when she did the commentaries. The sound is very good - I don't think anyone would have known if they hadn't mentioned it during the discussion.
