Difficult.
I hope that Season 7 somehow blows them all away and becomes my newfound favorite.
We shall see...

Season 3, though it's really hard choosing a favorite.

I chose 5 cos it affected me the most and the amount of Lem time. I have loved every season and different things about each one, plots, characters, lines, scenes, moments, looks.

I chose 1. IMO, the first ep did it for me with Vic ripping that guy's third "nad" off in front of those people, Terry getting shot and Corrine running away with the kids.

For me its a very difficult decision. At the moment Im watching the whole show from start to finish, I just finished season 3 last night. Up until last night, I always felt season 2 was the best but having thought about it for a while I came to the conclusion that 3 is better than 2. I love 4,5 and even the hated 6 for all different reasons and now Im going onto them to see if they change my mind about 3 being my fave again Just to say, I love that the show gets better and better each season and brings something new to the table each season while keeping in line with previous seasons too.

I'm running my marathon of The Shield and I just finished Season 3 last night, like murt1987 did at the point he commented here.
A friend and I debate about Season 3 quite a bit, as he thinks it "stalled" some storylines, but I think Sesaon 3 was the best season at that point and is very likely still the best overall season, even now. Maybe.
I have a feeling Season 4 is going to improve dramatically now with the extra added context of Season 5 and Season 6 behind it. That context truly makes the decisions by the characters--Vic, Lem, Shane--in Season 4 astonishingly important in retrospect.

For some reason I think Glenn Close and Anthony Anderson did a great job of joining the cast and not coming off as being a Jump-The-Sharkers.... I thought their characters were awesome, I went with S4~
