apparently CCH Pounder is the only Shield actress/actor to make the shortlist for the Emmy nominations - no Chiklis, no Walton - see my complete post in the APB section

Walt worked his ass off this season. It must be extremely discouraging to have done the best work an actor has done on television (imho) and get zero recognition.
Well, he's got to know there's an anti-Shield bias going on and he's not taking it personally. Or so I hope. And I believe this crap will keep them all grounded in what matters most--the quality work and not the f-ing Hollywierd politics.
Still, it makes this fan very sad and way mad!
PS. I like Pounder and the work she's done, but how is it that she's done anything close to what Goggins did this season??

there is still a chance - I haven't seen the Actor Supporting Drama final ten list but everyone seems to agree that since Chiklis and the show itself weren't getting any love, neither would Walton

I was talked into watching The Hours last night and sure, Meryl Streep did a great job, but there are countless other actresses who do great jobs. Yet Streep gets nominated for almost everything she appears in. Like Billie Holiday sang: "them that's got shall get, them that's not shall lose." Ironically, Meryl Streep was not nominated in this film, but her co-stars, Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore, were. Kidman won the Oscar for best actress and Moore got best supporting actress. There's hope.

How does the process work? The nominating? I remember Chris Noth saying something about the Emmys, and that you had to nominate yourself, and that was why he had never been considered, because he felt that was not appropriate.

I believe the right answer to Tsarina's question is "It doesn't!" If someone like Walt Goggins is never even nominated, clearly the process is f-ed up.
