Wed 9 May 2007 FX’s Terrible ‘Dirt’ Lives; As Does ‘Sunny’ & ‘The Shield’… Posted by Trent under TV News www.soundthesirens.com/news/?p=815 The cable network FX has announced their series’ pick-ups for next year, and out of all of it there was only one decision that really stung me hard. They’ve decided to bring back the utterly terrible Counrtey Cox-vehicle Dirt for a second season. The show is terribly written, and it’s potentially cool dirty-tabloid premise is handled so badly that it almost makes you want to cry. I prayed hard that this show would die, but I suppose the star power of Cox is just too much to let go. On the good side of the spectrum, cop-drama The Shield is coming back for it’s seventh (and final) season next year, the stellar Nip/Tuck is also coming back for it’s fifth. The suits have even decided to hang onto the hilarious sitcom It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia for it’s third year, and to bring freshman family drama The Riches back for a sophomore effort. Good decisions all around–except of ocurse for that Dirt nonsense.

Dirt is definitely the weakest of the FX shows...VERY happy to see The Riches is being picked up!

Well I sure as hell hope that The Shield would be picked up next season! Fox has been known to pull the plug on good shows....Family Guy! (I wasn't a fan of The Bunny and Arrested Development)

(I wasn't a fan of The Bunny and Arrested Development) FOX is notorious for axing great shows before they're given a chance. If I were to recite the list I would run out of fingers and toes to count on

I won't be indulging in any of the DIRT next season. Whoever wants to watch that crap can. I hated Friends, too. No, I am not sorry. I don't watch soap operas, either.

"It's Always Sunny" is the second funniest sitcom currently on TV, so I'm glad it's coming back. "The Riches" is extremely uneven, but it has enough good stuff going for it to warrant a second year. Nip/Tuck is what it is. The stuff involving the guest stars is more involving than the regular characters who became characitures sometime ago. Dirt's a piece of shit....simple as that.

Seriously... seriously... I'm not playing around. Whenever Dirt is on I can hear Jesus being raped.
Good news on all the others though.

being born and raised in Philadelphia, i'm embarassed by that excuse of a comedy "it's always sunny in philadelphia"
but "the riches" rules.
and yeah, duh, it goes without saying for the shield.

Well, I like Niptuck/Rescue me/ and of course the SHield. I thought Dirt was ok, I gave the Riches a chance and watch the first 4-5 eps, and I quit watching it. It lost my interest. Let's put it this way, if the Riches or Dirt did not comeback, I would not be heartbroken. Next to the shield, Rescue me is awesome. I thought I would hate Dennis Leary as a "serious" actor, but that show makes me laugh so hard some times.
BTW-What ever happened to LUCKY? lol

I love The Riches, but I'm probably a bit biased as I think Eddie Izzard is by far one of the funniest men alive
