Just for grins and giggles, let's speculate. If The Shield were to do a crossover with another TV show, which show should it be? Someone (I forget who) suggested 24. I remember when X-Files did a crossover with Cops, that was hilarious.
I'm thinking Dateline: To Catch a Predator. They always use decoy houses in spiffy upscale suburbs, but I'm sure there are child predators in Farmington, or who'd drive there. So Chris Hanson reels them in, and cops from The Barn wait to pounce on the pedophiles as they leave. Billings might maintain his typical apathy, but every other character I can think of would be filled with righteous indignation and vengeance. Julian would be revolted and outraged, Danny would be scornful and disgusted, Ronnie would bounce some perv's head off the pavement. Tina, watching Ronnie, would melt like butter. ;D

Here's my crossover idea. The Shield meets...Reno 911!. Dutch, while going through Aceveda's office for some silly reason, finds a tape that says "Watch On Pain Of Death" in Vic's handwriting in a place in Aceveda's desk (he probably stole it from the ST locker room) and out of morbid curiousity pops in the nearest VCR he could find as certain other officers wander into the room as well. It turns out to be an episode of Reno 911! where The Strike Team-and this would take place when Lem was still alive and all was well of course-had to go to Reno to stop some drug bangers or gun runner or something. Of course, they team up with the Reno Sheriff's department and automatically regret it when the latter screws everything for the former. There would be one running gag where Lem and Shane get stuck riding with Weigel...Lem sets Shane up to take his place and causes Shane to say "I'm going to kill him for this" in a bit of irony.
It's basically The Strike Team looking good and the Reno's Sheriff department looks bad and the others watch. It would be fun.

Good one, jadedgirl. I've never watched Reno 911, but your description sounds funny.
A bad crossover would be Medium. The moment Allison DuBois met Vic and Shane, all of the plot threads would start unraveling as she stared past them at the ghosts of all the people they've killed.

That would be so bad Maggie1956! Especially if she saw the ghost of Lem... Of course we'd get a little more Kenny screen time! And I don't watch Reno 911 either, but sounds funny jadedgirl! ;D

Monk? Law and Order (and SVU etc...) or even Baywatch......okay maybe that wouldn't work, but it would be good for ratings!!! ;D

I acutally came up with another one...this one would be a little strange but it could be good if done right. I'm thinking Ronnie, Dutch and Billings done The Three Stooges style. That would be my dream Shield spinoff. It would be like what was done in Back To One but with more screen time. Think about it...Ronnie is the more visceral, take charge kind of detective from his Strike Team style work, Dutch is the more cerebral problem solving detective who uses his mind more than his fists and Billing would be the obvious get lucky once in a while schomey detective. It's like The Odd Trio or something like that. They don't get along-but they get the job done. That could be the catchphrase. I think it would be gold.

I could definitely dig the "To Catch A Predator" twist and to a certain extent the DOG also if it was done right. Not a lot I could see making a lot of sense but those two I believe coudl do fine.

Just another reason why I miss Lem. I think he may be the only one who could rock those short shorts and pull it off. I don't think Shane has the *uh hem* goods to pull it off. And that is the third thing Shield related I didn't need to see today-that is just too creepy. Actually, an even scarier thought came to mind...Shane dressed up as Terry. If you watch Reno 911, you'll understand.

I got that off of Cletus's myspace page. Funny.....very funny. I wouldn't mind NCIS and The Shield merging. With Gibbs's tactics and Vic's ass kicking skills, people would be afraid to threaten our military. Ronnie and Abby could spend time together and Abby would tattoo Ronnie after taking him out partying one night. If Bonanza and The Shield crossed, here would be Shane:

after the show has completed its run, I think Dutch should pull up stakes and move to Miami and join Dexter - Dutch has probably got a lot in common with Dexter and I could see a good show come out of that pairing

The Shield crossing over with Cold Case has possibilities. We could have Lilly investigating both Terry and Lem's deaths. Lem was her beau for a while on Cold Case, after all. The ST, meanwhile, could discover that Armadillo survived his stabbing. He then went straight and cleaned up his act, becoming Det. Scotty Valens (who is actually played by Danny Pino ("Armadillo"). Claudette and Det. Will Jeffries could hook up and i can see Lilly catching Hiatt's eye.
