This thread is for anybody who likes Dutch. This guy is the man! He's cracked down a serial killer-rapist, gotten into a fist-fight with Billings, gotten a broad on the job and even received lessons on pimpology! Is there anything this guy can't do?
So anyone who likes Dutch, post up some great Dutch moments, memorable quotes and anything else you would like to add about this extraordinary human being.
Let the appreciation begin!

Chalk up some love for Detective Bl*w Me! I have always liked Dutch's character and thought he bruoght a lot to the show. The extremely smart guy who is always the rube no matter where he has been in life. Quietly doing his job and doing it well while every once in a while really showing how good he really is. How he ends up is going to be quite interesting. A couple of us at work and some Officers I know have gotten to where we use his "You gotta be shittin' me." all the time like it's second nature.

Dutch is the man! AND, he's really hot in his dorky albatross-like way. Hungry like the wolf... cat killer.... What I most love about Dutch is the way he listens to insane serial killers, corrupt co-workers, and pimps, and then applies any nuggets of what he deems to be good advice to his own life. Pimpology! I won't be surprised if Tina totally falls for it hook, line, and sinker, and becomes Dutch's ho! Man, he's a brilliant character written by absolutely brilliant people.... If April 3 doesn't get here RIGHT NOW I may lose my frikkin mind!

I'm a Vic enabler, so of coarse he is not at the top of my list. If you look at everything he has done not involved w/ Vic he is the man.
From the "Pilot" to "Postpartum" it has been how much time? 2-4 years, and he has nailed a 2 major serial killers(S1&S5), Bonnie and Clyde (Bob & Marcy), Cuddler rapist/murder. And that is only thru S3, and doen't even have all of the cases that get solved in 1 or 2 episodes. In the real world he'd have medals, awards and already be doing cases for all of LA if not Fed stuff.
I think at the end of S7 he needs to be packing up his shit to move to DC and a FBI job.
He drives a Subaru. Have we ever seen it? I bet it is a wagon.

I will also show some love for Holland. That's supposidly his real name (or at least that's what The Shield IMDB page says anyway). Dutch is the anti-Vic and that's why I like him. Vic is visceral...Dutch is cerebral. I always am drawn the brains over brawn type guys (well, except for Lem but he was never was one of the standard mold in that respect). I would like to see him and Ronnie work a case together. That would be pretty cool.

I have much respect for Dutch but howcome he never found out who REALLY put dog shit in his desk? hahaha The pretty much closed it out at the end of that episode with an "undrstanding" as to who the culprit was. Everything was done except for Claudette coming out and saying "I did it."

Yeah, I loved the "You gotta be shittin' me" line when Dutch saw Vic and Danny smooching in 1x05. The funny part was that a dog barked right after. I incorporate this quote in daily life too. I also love the bit in Dead Soldiers (2x02) when Dutch tries to get a parking ticket removed from his licence, and he keeps reiterating to the meter guy that he was testifying in a kiddie porn case. It was hilarious. In the same episode, when Claudette is interviewing T.O. about the "Firebug", she says that he identified the right guy with the wrong hair, then the camera shifts to Dutch and he says, "Wrong hair? That's weird."
Oh, so many priceless moments from Dutch...

With my man Dutch is on the case for who killed Lem, you know he won't be solving that one. Just no way the writers would really let the Dutch/Billings combo be the one to pin it on Shane. So no win there for the Dutch-man. So much for that perfect record.

I love in Season 5 when Dutch is always trying to impress Tina. She messes up a case by offering citizenship to an alien and Julien and Claudette get upset. Dutch then says, "It's okay, the Dutchman is on top of it" or something to that degree. Dutch makes me laugh out loud all the time.

One of my favorite Dutch lines ever has to be " pussy said yes plenty of times". I laughed for about 5 mins after that. Hell, it still makes me laugh. What makes it even better is while he's saying it he's looking around and the looks on people's faces are like, yeah right Dutchboy. Gotta love Dutch.

He drives a Subaru. Have we ever seen it? I bet it is a wagon. When he was driving Danny around in her off-time looking for the Cuddler, and they found the couple role-playing with "a friend" Also at the "You gotta be shittin' me" line, after helping Danny study for her Detective's test.

I like your assessment of him, E, and I agree that Dutch Boy is a brilliantly-written character, but as far as Tina falling for him ... no way, Renee! You know, I'm starting to like the idea of a Dutch-Claudette spinoff after TS ends. Now that would test the writing skills of anyone! ... hey, I think I just came up with a Q for Adam!

IDK about the spin offs...they usually don't last as long as the original shows and the writing is never as good. TPTB are talking about doing a spinoff of Grey's Anatomy with Kate Walsh's character as the star. Guess we'll see. If there is one, I'll watch.
