I thought it would be fun to catalog the sins of the strike team, for future reference.
Off the top of my head:
Deaths (Direct): Terry Crowley (Vic and Shane) Armadillo (Lem and Ronnie?) Margos (Vic) Lem (Shane) Guardo (Vic) The patsy killed by the Armenians (Vic, Shane, Ronnie and Lem)
Anyone want to add more? How about a list of indirect deaths, like the girl Antwon killed to keep Shane and Army in line? Or the guy Gilroy killed to set up Vic? Also, a list of peripheral deaths, like Aceveda killing the guys who assaulted him.
List the other crimes the team is guilty of. There is more just murders, there is that frame up in season one, and the robbery of the evidence van.

Lem stealing the heroine Selling the guns to the Byz Lats (Vic and Shane, more accidental, but it happened) Ronnie planting an illegal bug in Shane's car (Monica covered for them but still illegal) The Tavon cover up (Vic, Shane and Lem) Several counts of entrapment Shane and Vic having sex with strippers while on duty (not sure if illegal, but unethical)

I didn't start this thread, but I suggest that we stick to the title and list only Strike Team Sins. I don't think we have to worry about a shortage. In fact, each ep provides one or more that can be added to the list, last night's ep being a case in point.

Going all the way back to Season 1:
Planting a gun on Tigre's brother Pocketing the Pink (cocaine from original Margos bust) Extramarital affairs with co-workers (Vic) Pissing on a citizen in the street (Shane) Accepting sex as a bribe to keep a suspect out of jail (Shane and Tulips) Covering up a colleague's killing of 2 citizens (Vic, for Gilroy --the hit-and-run and then shooting the other gangbanger in the clubhouse) Torturing a suspect with a phone book and whatever else (Vic) Grilling Armadillo's face (Vic)
Okay, that last one was Season 2.
Next?

More from Season 1:
Throwing 2 guys in a steel box overnight so one of them could kill the other with his bare hands (Vic)
The obvious, and what prompted Aceveda to set Terry on the Strike Team in the first place: Making deals with drug and gang lords to eliminate competition and provide protection in exchange for "rent money"

Next? We don't know that the guy who got the golden shower was a citizen. If he was an illegal, getting pissed on was probably a stronger incentive to get back to Mexico (or wherever) than any INS suit could provide. Shane's spin could be he thought the guy was a pervert and he was doing him a favor. What Vic did with the phone book was simple battery, not torture. Vic's spin could be he was just letting the guy have a closeup look at an ad for a bail bondsman that was on the back cover. ;D

Threatening and then assaulting a guy until he gives up information he would otherwise have kept secret isn't torture? Okay. . .how about "Questioning with extreme prejudice"?
And, Shane still peed on a guy. No matter who he was, it's still not cool --unless, of course, the guy had asked Shane to do it. But you would know more about that than I, apparently, chem.

You're just in a bad mood cuz the Sox lost to the Yanks last night. BTW, cross-posting here, I guess there is no interest in baseball anymore. theshieldrap.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=thisthat&action=display&thread=1177813515&page=1#1179762613

^ I'd be happy to talk some more baseball --I just didn't want the MLB '07! thread to turn into the "eekay blathers about the Red Sox!" thread.
I still maintain that the above two items under discussion fall under the "Stuff you really shouldn't do, either as a cop or as a human being" category. But if you want to strike them off the list, go ahead --there'll be plenty of sins left.

And I never said what Shane and Vic did doesn't deserve to be on the list. Au contraire, they are classics and should be in the Top 10! I think it would be great fun if chupacabranj eventually created a poll so we could vote a top 10. You started the thread, chupacabranj, the poll's gonna be on you, dude/dudess.
