So basically Vic got three years probation for all the shit he did....?
I could stomach everyone's ending except for the fact that the main perp. gets to collect 62k a year, free from prison, has a shot (in the dark) to see his family and lives on. If you want to say "he has to live with the guilt." I would say "yeah and so does Ronnie in a G**damned prison cell." I frankly am disappointed in Vic's ending. Frankly, the only thing I "didn't see coming" was what Shane did to his family. I think that was the most shocking point in the whole damn episode.

He never gets to see his family (kids!) and he has to live in his own hell that he put himself in.... Ronnie will likely NEVER forgive him and he has nobody left in his life!

it also all makes sense, with the series after 7 seasons
Ryan said in an interview that the ONLY person he ever saw getting away with everything in some way, was Vic,because Vic was always a step ahead
so it makes sense that vic didnt go to jail he focused so much on his job and staying out of prison, that he, lost what really, really mattered, vic going to jail instead of ronnie, wouldnt have fit the same

The immunity deal seems far fetched too because I don't really see them passing out blind immunity. Whatever, in the end I grew to despise Vic. I'm disappointed because I think in the end he deserved more than he got....basically three years probation...and I don't care about the dyed-in-the-wool defenders who say he lost his family boo hoo and he has to work behind a desk whoo hooo it's a living hell. Someone, somewhere aptly pointed out that if that were the case then there a lot of people in the living hell. As for his family, someone else, pointed out somewhere else, that Vic was always married to his job and "dropped in" and never really rolled up his sleaves and parented. Also Ronnie and Shane (maybe Ronnie...) don't have that chance to make a new family. Vic does. So in the end. I am disgusted with his character and wished to see him pay the price.... and (imo) he didn't.

I'm not disappointed ... after having read the interviews of S Ryan ! I didn't want Vic to go to jail or die so what happened is quite good. Nevertheless, betraying Ronnie is for me the highest price to pay to stay alive and relatively free. I don't like him doing that. Obviously (to me), Shawn wanted Vic to go where all his internal contradictions would lead him and, in this point of view, all is right. Not closing Dutch or Vivian affairs just show they were here to serve the story, not to be in first line of it. Beside that, the last scene is perhaps too much because Shawn doesn't seen to think it's really important. So why do that since you don't have in mind an open ending. Vic will stay in his office for 3 years, that's all.

I know where you are coming from, I was hoping at least he would go in with a good deed. I thought he would make some negotiation to switch with Ronnie somehow, through learning of Corrine's hatred and Ronnie going down. However, the truth is Vic gets away with everything, but causes pain for himself. It seems more real, cause sometimes the bad guys get away.
