I posted this in one of the Season 7 threads but have not received an answer yet, so thought I'd post it here.
This question is about Beck's song "Farewell Ride" used to great effect as part of many trailers/promos for The Shield this season, including the most recent teaser to the final episode 7:13 Family Meeting.
Does Beck have more tracks like "Farewell Ride" on any albums? I've never really gotten into Beck, always seemed like a borderline college act with twinges of dance and electronica. But so many people tell me there is a lot of his stuff I'd like. If he has an album or couple of albums that all have that bluesy raw feel to them (with no electronica dance bullshit) I'd love to hear them.
Any Beck fans out there that can point me in the right direction? I positively cannot stand electronica, dance, or really any keyboard/synthesizer type music. And if someone says an artist "mixed that cut" (i.e. a lot of external editing influences to get the sound I hear) I am automatically not interested.
But if Beck has more of this raw-sounding music with just basic musical instruments and very little post-production "mixing" effects, I'd love to hear it. I think this song "Farewell Ride" really kicks ass and proves to me that man has tremendous musical talent.

I couldn't tell ya off hand, but you might want to go over to amazon.com and preview the tracks on his albums. Atleast you would get an idea as to what the songs sound like. Good luck.
