Where did Claudette and Vic get the $$$ for new cars? The Barn is a sinking ship and they have money to get brand new vehicles? I don't know, it just seems odd...

Cars arent really that hard to get TBH. All you need is good credit and a decent down payment. And with Vics ways, Im sure getting a down payment wouldnt be too hard .

Isn't Vic driving that Dodge car from last season? That blue 4 door?
Love Ronnie's ride though. So fitting.

Are we all assuming that characters' cars are "company cars"or "personal cars"? Big difference in how to interpret the original question.
I have noticed that, for a show that lasts roughly 4-5 years (what is the latest, most accurate time frame?) the main characters do change vehicles a bit.
Vic had an old beater (maybe a police-issue undercover ride?), then the Durango, then that black Pontiac, another old beater, then the blue Charger he's driving now (plus other one-time vehicles he stole or "commandered")
Shane had a Chevy Tahor or Suburban, then a Chevy pickup, then his tan Dodge pickup - plus Mara's Lexus and now the Taurus or whatever
Dutch had a little Japanese econobox when he sang "Hungry Like the Wolf" and now appears to have a Toyota Camry? Or is that Claudette's car? I'm confused.
Anyway, other than the quick rotation of relatively expensive vehicles by Vic and Shane, I don't think any of these cars are unusual on a cop salary if they are personal vehicles. If they are police issue, then yes it seems odd.
But something about the time when Vic got the black Pontiac rings a bell. Didn't Vic promise something to any cop who busts a banger with a cool ride that Vic can take? Perhaps when the LAPD impounds vehicles in arrests, the undercover cops get first pick to use for their new rides? Not sure of legalities of this in real life, but it's been done before in movies etc.

I wonder where shane got the t-bird from? Maybe in my shock of what was going on, I missed where he picked that up?
I have a 1997 thunderbird just like that one.....same color, but I have the spoiler on the back....

no idea on t-bird it just showed up. but with the type of petty criminal stuff shane was doing in the previous episode, it's safe to assume he has stooped to a little GTA as well.

Wasn't that the one he was in when he asked whatshisname what his mama was putting in the corn muffins? Plus the grey van that they used from time to time during sting operations. That was the van they were in the night Terry was killed. And the Thunder Chicken he was in last week. I also seem to remember a Chevy Impala or something...Gold colored maybe? Julian and Danny pulled over some gang bangers back in the 4th season and seized that grey Grand Prix that was pimped out. Vic got it as part of Monica's seizure policy.
