Michael Chiklis wouldn't let his daughter watch this show when she was younger ... I think that is correct. If that is indeed a fact, something occurred to me: now his daughter has taken on an integral role in the show, and it is in a bad way for "father", Vic. So, the question is would MC let his daughter do this if the ultimate outcome has Vic getting away with all his bad acts? Or did he consent to a greater role for his daughter only because he knew that she would be taking part in a positive moral lesson -- that if you do bad things, you will have a bad end regardless of how much you love your family? A third possibility: he told her this is just acting, not real life so don't make correlations. Somehow I don't think it's the 3rd scenario. I am inclined to think that his allowing greater involvement for Autumn is with the knowledge that her character's father is gonna go down in the end. There's no way he could answer this question in an interview without giving away the end of the show.

I say he consented because bad thing will come from bad deads, and mixed with a little of the 3rd option that it is just acting.

Isn't Autumn about 15 now? If I had a kid I think I would allow him/her to watch a show like the Shield at that age.
Autumn is also a damn good actress. After watching her since season 5 I think she is going to make a mark in Hollywood.

According to IMDB, her birthdate was in October 1993.
Which means she's not quite fourteen. ?

According to IMDB, her birthdate was in October 1993. Which means she's not quite fourteen. ? Actually, that would make her not quite 15. I'm surprised--she looks older to me. And I agree that she is playing her role well. I'm starting to think my premise in the opening post of this thread is kind of silly. It would make it look like he doesn't have confidence in her ability to separate her role from real life. Or would it? Actors are probably more mature in some ways than regular teens. After all, they are professionals. But other kids work, too. Do you think Autumn's job requires her to be more mature, at least in some aspects, than nonactor teens?

Y'all are crazy, I have seen better acting from my dogs. She has the same expression on her face in every scene. and the blank stare to boot. I honestly think her "acting" kills every scene she is in. Just my .02
But I think letting your child watch at any age depends on THAT childs maturity level. I let my daughter watch, and she is only 8 months old.

^ But Autumn did put a pretty good throw-down move on Corrine.

Yeah and then got the fear of god put in her by Vic. She looked like she crapped her pants.

Vic has Shane to thank for traumatizing Corrine and Vic by essentially kidnapping them and locking them in that freight box in the warehouse. And now, thanks to Mara, Vic's story on why Shane did it is looking pretty thin. I'm tellin' ya, Cassidy is bound to overhear Vic and Corrine arguing about all this and Cassidy's next visit is gonna be to Mara. I don't think Mara is going to pull too many punches to protect Cassidy. She's going to worry about the welfare of her own kids.

There is a reason Cassisdy is getting so much air time this year, she will be trouble for Vic, going to Billings, then Danny. This does not look good.

I think perhaps he just didn't feel comfortable with his daughter, at any age, seeing/hearing her father say things like "Weren't you supposed to meet me here to suck my dick?!" ... I probably wouldn't want my daughter to hear me say something like that...if I were a man. And if my son were a girl. But I'm not, and he's not, so .... ?

Noe that I think of it like that, if I were a father I would never want my daughter to see me mistreating women like Vic does sometimes. Like when he makes the hooker (Connie's friend, I'm blanking on her name) give a blow job to his gun.

She said in an interview that she accidentally saw a scene a few years ago (I think it was a Dutch/Claudette investigation) and was "grossed out," and she has no desire to watch it. Granted, her dad was sitting right beside her, so who's to say that she was being honest or just saying what she thought he'd want to hear. Autumn seems like a really good kid, though... totally NOT the kind of kid I was. I'd've watched it for sure.
