Does anyone have a picture of it? I can't find it, my programs and files were lost when my hard drive crashed so I can't capture an image from DVD's anymore!

Since it's okay... I find it odd that the year of death is covered by the leaf. It couldn't be just random, could it? If this show was The Sopranos, Lem would be alive by rationale of that 'clue'.

I was a bit irritated when they used Kenny Johnson's real birthdate of 1963 for Lem in the Season 6 trailer, and even moresoe when it made it into the show itself on his gravestone.
Kenny looks alot younger than he is. I always considered Vic to be in his early forties and the other guys around their mid-thirties. The character of Lem in particular, being the most innocent, doesn't really make sense to me as being as old as I imagine Vic to be.
Also, it very nearly makes Lem's line in either 'Two Days of Blood' or 'Circles' (I can't remember which) when he wants to get something done "whilt [he's] still in [his] thirties", not make sense (Lem would have been 39 in 2002, presuming Season 1 took place in the year it was aired).
I think the obscuration of Lem's date of death is to avoid having to commit to a rigid timeline. If Season 1 did take place in 2002, then by my estimate Lem would have died around 2005.

electroshockblues, I agree that blocking the full year of Lem's death is to avoid conforming to a rigid timeline since the writers kept shortening the "time gaps" between seasons, thus making the run of the series significantly shorter than the real-life timespan.
And I also agree that Kenneth Johnson looks and behaves much younger as Lem than what his age would indicate. And the line--"While I'm still in my thirties"--is actually in 3x02 Blood and Water, as the Strike Team sits in their car, waiting for Aceveda to get the judge to pull a warrant.

*Sigh*
I guess thats what I get for making a post with actual content and ideas in it. Next time I'll just keep it short, mindless and content-free.
Thanks for the correction, acc. That kind of makes Lem's remark a little less justifiable, but I've never been too critical of The Shield's rather "relaxed" timeline. As long as it makes sense from episode to episode and Season to Season (ie. having six months between seasons 2 and 3 to allow for Julian's recovery and for Danny to get a new job) then I don't really mind.

Agreed. I remember a screen airing after either 5:11 or the Promosode (5:22) that read something like "RIP Curtis Lemansky" and had his birth date and death date. Can't find mention of it on the web, though.
