No glitz, no contests*, no merchandising ... just rap about the FX TV show "The Shield". The idea is for this site to be a fun and intelligent place to chat with other fans of the show (there are also areas for offtopic discussion)
Also, I'm offering the position of Moderator (for selected boards) to the first few people who move up in rank (50 posts required). What does a moderator do?
From the help page: What is a moderator? Moderators are people who have control over a message forum. They have the ability to delete posts/threads, view the IP addresses of posters, lock topics (make it so no one can reply), unlock topics (if they were locked), and modify any and all postings on the board (no matter who they are posted by).
*OK, CHIKCHICK has asked me to yield on the contest thing. As evidence that I want this to be a site by the members and for the members ... if she wants contests, we'll have contests!

I'm assuming this thread is open for suggestions... We need limits on avatar and signature size so as not to degrade page load times. Additionally the banner at the top while very attractive needs to be reduced to at least a quarter it's size. It causes un-necessary scrolling and should probably be limitted to the home page of the forums. All this is my opinion and when I say needs I mean that is what I think... I'm not giving orders. Some pages (possibly between replies, I can't recall) need at minimum to maintain a link to the home page and preferably to the key category under which the thread falls. I'll add more later as I notice. Thanks for a working site we can come to and build.

We are all about making this place better, so again, thanks for your input. When you are reading a thread, there is a link to the board, category, and home page just above the first post in the thread, or the first post on that page. (This is not the case when viewing the "55 most recent posts" however.) The Rap Staff is hashing out image sizing and other issues; I'm actually resizing the avatars as I have time. Resizing the individual signature banners is the responsibility of their respective owners! (cough cough - you know who you are) I see the search button at the top of every page under, "Welcome *name*, you have x messages...." My search button has pretty blue stripes on it. ;D
