F/X did do a piss poor job of promoting the Shield this season! The show that literally put F/X on the map, being so disrespected just pisses me off! The Shield is the greatest show on TV and deserves alot better than what it has gotten! F/X better step up and promote the final season a helluva lot better!

FX seems to be turning into a network channel like NBC or Fox. Case in point, they did a sh*t job promoting The Shield, and then they will follow it up by moving Rescue Me to a new night, after initial advertising said coming Tuesdays, then all the sudden they started saying Wednesdays. Granted they have increased the advertising for Rescue Me about three fold what they did for The Shield. Sad really, because without The Shield FX would be nothing. Anyway, these are both things that Fox and the other networks are notorious for doing that always seems to spell doom for the shows that get moved. Now I am not sure the same effect will happen on FX as the shows on FX seem to have cult followings with some new folks on and off watching every new season. But what is the over under that viewership on Rescue Me is down this next season like the Shield?

Well all we can hope for is FX to tank after The Shield is over.

I just don't understand it. You're right ~ The Shield put FX on the map and they won't even support the show. Every time they break for a commercial they show a Rescue Me promo! WTF? ?

Probably the reason why FX didn't promote The Shield hard this time around is because they know that it's ending next season, and so they would rather push the shows that they think (hope) will have longevity.
At any rate, screw the ratings. The Shield is the best show on television. The only other show that I ever saw that could compare with it was Wiseguy (although Homicide: Life On The Street was a show that was very similar to The Shield--in fact, Homicide WAS The Shield, just a cleaned up version of it.)

You may be right, Jade.... It's still just unbelievable to me that they did exactly squat with the ad campaign for last season.... The Shield is their baby; their FIRST BORN CHILD!!! The Shield made FX what it is today, and the lack of respect and consideration makes me ill. I see commercials for Rescue Me and the new one Damages all over TV; not just on FX and Fox, but on the other networks and cable channels. The only ads I EVER SAW for The Shield last season were on FX and Fox. LAME ASS LOSERS!!!! Yeah, I have issues.

The Shield put FX on the map (because, let's face it, whoever heard of FX before TS?) I have a friend who is a total Shield fanatic, and she had no idea of Season 6's premiere date until 2 weeks before April 5th--and only because I went searching for info about it and told her. THAT's how much respect FX has for the show that made them (And if you have issues, then I guess I do, too )
