1. Vic to Shane (talking about Dutch's blind date) "We'll spare you the awkward hellos and skip straight to the painful goodbyes."
2. Dutch to his date: "I guess ... so ... cooler climes are just hard-wired to my northern European DNA."
3. Shane, about Dutch, to boys in the Barn: "Looks like his next date is gonna be with some HAND cream!"
4. Army to boys in the Barn: "DNA like that, his parents should have chlorinated the gene pool."
5. Dutch to Wyms: "Old and stubborn. Guess all you look for is a good fight sometimes, huh?"
6. Army, on finding the stash of automatic rifles in the drug house) : "Wish we had this kinda shit in Iraq!"
7. Rawling to Wyms: "You smelled horseshit, turned out there was a pony in the barn."
8. Antwon to Shane: "You think you was EVER makin' rules around here?!"

Hey, thanks Admin for always making time in your busy schedule for the best line polls! It does take some time to put this together, we know!

Although offensive, my favourite line was....
Antwon: If I tell you to suck my dick, you say, Want me to lick your balls daddy?
Disturbingly vicious but funny too....
I also liked how Vic mentioned to Dutch... "Attack it ... like you're hungry... like the wolf". Chiklis delivered that line well
and yeah definitely agree with ChikChik.......thanks for taking the time to put the poll together Chemikalman

I did it for S02 and S03 when I had my Yahoo group, too. I am thinking of doing one for S01 during the off season. I am also thinking of seeing if I can find the lines for the polls in S02 and S03 and re-post them for this group -- also during the offseason. BTW, Shaka, both of the above lines were also considered. I liked the one from Antwon and another member suggested the line about the wolf. I have thought about having the poll split since each poll is limited to 8 choices, but haven't done that yet. I really didn't want to leave Antwon's line out , but, oh well ... ;D

Hey Chem, What about taking the winning lines and doing a "Best Line of the Season" poll at the end? Ky I was planning on just that! I did it last year with the yahoo group. It would help to have a few more peeps voting, but let's see how it goes. Each poll stays open indefinitely, so maybe more people will vote with time.

Each poll stays open indefinitely, so maybe more people will vote with time. Cool. Only thing with having each season open indefinitely is that if we start with one line being the fave and ya set the best line of the season post up, then more come along, that could change and invalidate the best of the season. What about having each season's ending at the start of the next? We can go ahead and do seasons 1-3 if you want to repost those. or.... I dunno! My brain is fried for some reason. lol! Ky

Ky Actually, I meant having the polls from the current season open at least throughout this season, then close it out at some point during the offseason so we could do the best line of the season. As far as doing polls for the previous season, we'll have plenty of time to think about that during the offseason. Damn! ... offseason is something I don't even want to think about yet! Seems like it just WAS the offseason!

I voted for the "Pony in the barn" but my most memorable quote/scene/sequence was when Vic yells out (something similar to:)"You ain't gonna smell pussy for a while". Then when Vic takes that snitch up to the interogation room..."I'm acting, for the homies"

Vic calls them pussies and the one guy says, "I can smell yours from here, bitch!" LOL Yes, a brilliant exchange.... Here's the weblog for that ep from www.fxnetwork.com : Episode 405 "Tar Baby " POSTED BY: Walton Goggins a.k.a. Shane Vendrell APRIL 12 , 2005 *The comments and opinions expressed below are solely those of their respective writers, and not those of FX Networks, LLC, Twentieth Century Fox, or their related and affiliated entities.* Reading an episode of The Shield for us as actors is much like a fan, an ardent fan, watching an episode for the first time. We have absolutely no idea what is going to happen, but we know over the course of that hour that we will inevitably mouth the words, "OH MY GOD" and leave the experience physically and emotionally drained. Reading episode five was no exception. I knew when I finished reading this story that it was going to be a dark journey. Words like confidence, arrogance and control, would be replaced with words like fearful, powerless, and impotent. Filming the last scene was so... visceral for me as an actor. It began with me reasserting my power. Five seconds later I was on my back. My badge was stripped and my gun was in another man's hands... For a second I felt angry. I knew that my payback would come. But then Antwon brought out that little girl, that beautiful little girl who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He shot her and there was nothing I could do about it. And yet I was responsible. I remember thinking, "Breathe...don't do anything stupid, just get your partner out of here... be submissive, do what he says, and save your partner's life." AHHHH...these situations are so rich. These are the kind of stories that actors live for. You feel a certain sense of accomplishment, like you've given something back. You learn something about yourself in a story like this and so much more about the person you're playing. I believe that we learn our greatest lessons thru pain and humility. Hopefully Shane will be humbled in a way that he previously didn't know existed.... Maybe he will, maybe he won't. You'll have to keep watching to find out. I hope you enjoyed the show.

#7: You smelled horseshit, turned out there was a pony in the barn
very realistic way for two crusty broads to smooth things over between them
Monica apologized to Claudette w/o being all gooey about it, which brought both of them to where they needed to be
