DAN!!! Holy shit! I was so pissed off about this Emmy thing (and really wrapped up in the set visit board) I didn't see your post until now! How the hell did that happen!?!??! Man, that was just totally awesome. What you said about the Kav/Lem drama ... and Shane/Lem tragedy stirred me up! Thanks for putting so much thought and real intelligence into your words, man. You explained why we all love the show so much! Love ya! -E

At least one "FXer" got a nomination. I think Denis Leary definetly deserves it, and hopefully he will win. Kiefer Suterland does good, but hes done good for the last 5 seasons of 24. It's nothing new just the same character every season. Unlike The Shield where M.C. isn't the same Vic every year. S1-Ass Kicking, doesn't listen to anyone. S2-Ass kicking doesn't listen to anyone, but with some restraint since they were "keeping their noses clean" untill they hit the money train. S3- Trying to be a good little boy to keep IAD away from there money train stash. S4- No ST, sort of trying to redeam himself. and S5 Using his brain to out-wit IAD.
All in all the nom's are a bunch of crap, but hopefully Leary will come thru with the victory.

There's only one word for it - absurd. My absolute fury at The Shield's absence from the nominations list is only tempered by the fact that that overrated piece of crap 'LOST' didn't get nominated for 'Best Drama' either.
There's a lot that I would say but most of you have already said it, so I'll leave it at that.

The Shield and 24 are by far the best dramas on tv, nothing can compare.
I would nominate the Shield for:
Best Drama Best Actor, Michael Chiklis Best Supporting Actor, Forest Whitaker Best Supporting Actor, Walton Goggins (How can he lose if he submitted Postpartum?!) Best Supporting Actress, CCH Pounder Best Direction 5.10 Of Mice and Lem or 5.11 Postpartum Best Writing 5.10 Of Mice and Lem or 5.11 Postpartum
I would have given Shield all of these nominations over every show except 24. Those are the only two shows that really deserve respect and recognition on a huge level!
