Early in the series Lem makes a reference to doing something "whilst I'm still in my thirties", and I think that the character is definitely written as being someone in his early thirties. I always regarded Lem as being 33-35, Shane and Ronnie as being around 36, and Vic as being around 43. This accounts for the relationships between the ST members - Lem and Shane's relationship definitely had the dynamic of two friends of the same age - there was a sense of total equality between them (see the video-game playing scene from S3). Meanwhile whilst Lem and Vic's relationship tilted slightly more towards a teacher/pupil dynamic, with Vic's seniority and position as ST leader playing an important part (see how Lem calls Vic "boss" a lot in the first two seasons).
Having Lem the same age as Vic just seems wrong given their relationship so I think that these dates are somewhat "wrong" in relation to the character. Of course, there is also the factor that Kenny Johnson in no way looks to be as old as 43. The person making the promo probably just referenced Kenny's real birthdate without any thought towards the character.

Does anyone remember Episode 5:04 in which it was Lem's birthday? The birthdate given in the promo definitely does not fit the story unless we are to believe that the interval between 5:04 and 5:11 was around 8 months.

is it possible that Nip/Tuck could air on a different night, leaving Tuesday's open for the "bonus" episodes. I've never watched Nip/Tuck so I couldn't tell you which night it airs..

Guys, you're reading too much into the birthday thing. According to IMDB, Johnson's actual birthday is July 13, 1963. That's probably why they chose the date. The simply needed a birthday for dramatic effect.

If the writers say Lem's birthdate is July 14, 1964, then that's his birthdate. Whatever the writers write becomes Shield cannon; even if it contradicts something previously written. JMHO; there CAN BE contradictions in a fictional world...
Word is taht Kenny doesn't publish his birth year..... they're quite defensive on that topic over at the kennyjohnson.com message board anyway (LOVE YOU GUYS!!).... It's been said taht all the different published birth years for Kenny on the net are wrong. I don't think it's a huge deal, but if Kenny doesn't want anyone to know how old he really is, then so be it.

I'd bet anything Kenny is 40-42. He can pass for younger and that's still important in Hollyweird.

I just saw one of the promos on FX during the Rescue Me replay.
All it did was mention a special 10 episode season. "Coming soon"

Am I the only one that is seeing these new previews?? Okay, during the second episode of RESCUE ME tonight, there was ANOTHER preview for "DEAL OR NO DEAL". Wait, I mean, "THE SHIELD". Here's the rundown...
LEM DEAD IN THE CAR
"WHEN EVERYONES DIRTY"
"WHEN EVERYONES DESPERATE"
"WHEN EVERYONES GUILTY"
VIC AND KAV ARGUING
"THIS SEASON...NO ONE...RESTS...IN PEACE"
SCENES OF VIC PULLING A GUY OUT OF THE CAR, CEMENTARY PICS AGAIN, VIC THROWING A TABLE THRU A WINDOW, A GUY DEAD IN A BATHROOM (LOOKS DIFFERENT THAN 1X01) VIC SHOVING A GUY IN THE BOX (LOOKS LIKE ACEVEDA)....
AND PROBABLY THE BEST MUSIC OF ANY PREVIEW.

I haven't ever watched 'Rescue Me,' Dan, so I didn't see them as they aired. This second one sounds great, too!
I noticed in the first one, there was no actual Cause of Death in title cards...they just flashed all the main characters, starting with Aceveda.

Firm talk of the next batch of episodes means one thing:
Time to do a 5-season Restrospective of everything Shield to date. I do this every year, but this time I'm gonna do it chronologically, Coppolla style. I'll get Co-Pilot out of the way right off the bat and not slow down the Money Train storyline when I get to the meat of Season 2.
I'm so excited. I just can't hide it. I'm so excited.

You're about to lose control, and I think you like it! I'm into the first few eps of S3 with my Shield Cult.... I let them see CoPilot where it was intended; they all really liked it..... We HAVE to get through S5 before S6 (that's what we're calling it now, right??) starts... we just have to!!!

You're about to lose control, and I think you like it! Doncha know it! I personally have nothing against Co-Pilot. I thought it was a good episode for one of my favorite minor characters, Connie. I just wanted to do something a little different with this runthrough.
