Just found the date for the nomination announcement by accident. Next Thursday 16th July Im sure TS is still eligable for it right? For me personally, Michael Chikilis, CCH Pounder and of course Walton Goggins deserve at the very very least nominations and also the final season should get a nod too. But the way these things go, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole show gets ignored again. What about you guys?

Walton Goggins deserves one for this season, Chiklis deserves one too, especially for a "Drama Series" as a whole.
CCH is great, but Glen Close was a better female star of the show, too many other good leading ladies out there....

Glenn Close was a big fat downer! Bleck. Anyone else in that role would have delivered as good a performance and perhaps even gone along with what the writers wanted her to say instead of refusing the lines they wrote. Uuugh. Divas bite.
CCH has been brilliant, though. All of the cast and writers deserve noms, but I'm willing to bet that the show gets ZERO recognition. I won't be too surprised if they get 1 or 2 nominations, but I highly doubt the industry cares enough to actually give them awards.

I betcha House will get 50 noms and we get nothing. all the talk out here is that Walton is pretty much assured of a Supporting nom - secondary to that, the show itself and Chiklis are probably gonna get nominations - CCH is, unfortunately, a longshot but you just never know - she's very well-respected and is in two new shows so she's in the public eye - there is a lot feeling in the entertainment press that the show never got the recognition it deserved and now is the time to reward it so I think we can expect some good news - I will be shocked if we go away with nothing - it's big competition is going to be Breaking Bad - Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul ('Jesse') are all the rage out here, especially since the Peek-A-Boo episode cemented itself as one of the best episodes in TV history fingers crossed

I think the reason is partly because the show has ended. That isn't right, but seems to be the way things go. It was certainly far less right for TS to get blanked the last few years.

"You've gotta be shittin' me." But to be honest it was already clear and not a real suprise, there is no commercial interest in The Shield since it ended and it did not gather a lot of hype. The fans and critics all rate the show, and certainly the last season, A+. Some shows land more nominations than they had viewers just because of some hype, like Mad Men. CCH Pounder did get a nod, but as a guest star on some crappy show I never heard of.

I can't say as I was surprised. I really expected more for the final season than we got. It was almost as if Ashton Kutcher was supposed to jump out and say we all got Punk'd.
Fantastic acting by Walt and Vic towards the end but I thought the rest of season 7 was a bit off.

Absolute bullshit. Seriously. Even people that aren't exactly fans of the show can totally acknowledge the brilliance the actors showcased in the final season. The Emmy's are crap.

The Best Actor Catagory was very good in fairness so Im not too surprised Michael Chikilis not getting in this year(although I do believe personally he deserves it) but the best Drama award nom for Lost was crazy, their worst season and it still gets nominated instead of The Shield. As for Walton Goggins, I feel bad for him the most as not only did he deserve a nomination but he deserved to win the damn thing. I hope it wont be his last chance to get one.
The Emmy's are really just a popularity contest for the 'cool' kids and we aint invited.
