I've just re watched all the episodes and I have to say I really love this show! ;D Can't wait for the new episode! And it's really funny seeing Jay Karnes well dressed and groomed when I'm used to seeing him rumpled and Dutch-like

Yes, this was a good choice for both Karnes, and for Sutter & Co. to cast him for this recurring guest spot.
And because this is "only" a recurring guest role, I am still holding out hope for a "Dutch" spinoff TV series. I think Dutch hunting down serial killers with David Marciano (or some other comedic sidekick) tagging along would be a fun show to watch. I'm envisioning a CSI but with much more humor and none of the faked "drama" (I hate all those CSI shows, by the way). Not quite a full-on sitcom, but more of a funnier one-hour detective show. And get into Dutch's personal life - maybe he has a long-lost sibling or mother or something. Continue his trouble bedding members of the opposite sex.
Would have LOVED to see Dutch working cases with Lennie Brisco (RIP Jerry Orbach) from Law & Order or Munch (Richard Belzer) from L&O and Homicide.
I honestly think they could even get away with a Dutch/Ronnie pairing (assuming Ronnie makes it out of TS alive). Hell, I'd even watch Dutch and Tina (as much as I loath her character).
There is a hope in me that this really is all in the works (I mean, didn't Shawn Ryan originally envision Dutch as the main character before he switched the whole show to examine the Rampart scandal? I know I read somewhere that Dutch was the first character he created). Maybe SR didn't want to announce it before TS is completely done because he didn't want the audience to know who (Dutch, Ronnie, Billings?) makes it out of Farmington alive).

Hell I'd watch Jay Karnes read the phone book I will be following the Shield peeps (cast and crew) wherever they land, movies, TV shows whatever! And I'd love a shield spin off but I don't think it's going to happen

Hey E...you might want to check this week's episode since the man himself (yes, that's Kurt) is actually IN the episode. Also, as a bonus...we get a two for one deal in hot shirtless man department. Mm hmm...love me some Jax and Opie.
Anyway, watch for Margos...or rather Big Otto. He has lines too...in English this time. Oh and uh...FREE BIG OTTO!

honestly the only thing still holding my interest in this show is the Jay Karnes character (just want to know what he did to provoke a restraining order) and a tiny bit of the Katey Segal character, though even she is wearing thin at this point. the previews for next week's show look OK, but I'm just getting that "these people are scuzz-balls, why should I care?" feeling.

^ I agree, but I did like seeing Big Otto, and the masturbatory disorder was kinda Nip Tuck ish. I did like the shirt thrown into the crowd that read "Free Big Otto". I do wonder when he will get of prison and be a regular on the show. If ever.

FREE BIG OTTO!!! Lordy, that man is sexy....
I'm most interested in Jax and Dutch -- errrmm, I mean the ATF dude. And Big Otto, of course! Ron Perlman is a huge distraction for me. I don't like him at all. Having him on the show interferes with my ability to suspend reality. ARg.

I have been watching this show from the beginning, it is up and down, but I like, Jax, the doctor chick, Jay Karnes as the ATF agent and Gemma, played by Katey Segal. Last week's episode when they removed the tattoo of the disbanded member was pretty disturbing, disturbing enough to hold my interest. The show with the trip to Vegas that led to the patchover was good too, loved what he did to the guy sitting on his bike!

Caught the last 20 minutes of a documentary, I think it was on Discovery?, about the Hell's Angels. Made me wonder how much of the Sons of Anarchy is based on research into the Angels? There were a lot of similarities.

the hell's angels are the most bad-ass brotherhood in the entire history....even today
I'm sure that SOA it's influenced on that, but you got to know that EVERY f**kin motorcycle club, poser or the real thing, are influenced by the angels, yea...they set the whole thing back then.......

One thing that I'm certain of is that SAMCRO is going to spend some time finding out who leaked to the Aztecs about the gun warehouse. It was the third line of dialogue in the Pilot episode: White boy was right. M4s.Kurt Sutter is a writer who's always looking forward. I really don't think that line was a 'throwaway' line, but more to lay the groundwork of an arc yet to come. The Pilot was about revenge for the heist, but I'm hoping future episodes will be about ferreting out the leak and exacting revenge. I think they were referring to Mitch Pileggi's character... Wasn't he the one that tipped them off? Or did I make that up?

Speaking of Mitch Pileggi (and thanks for the name; always known the face, never knew the name) .... how is it that he has never played Hunter S. Thompson on screen? They could be brothers they look so similar - and have the same crazy eyes.

Good news for Kurt Sutter and the fans of the show-it's been renewed for a second season. That makes this girl happy because I like the show but if they really want to make me happy they'll make Ryan Hurst a regular and bring Opie back next season. Guess we'll have to see how this season plays out first.

I read a couple of articles about SOA. They keep talking about the series plot being based on Hamlet with Jax as Hamlet. I keep thinking that while that would be interesting for a movie or a miniseries I can't see that working as a multi-season story arc. Jax can only question his motives and bitch and moan Hamlet-style so much before it just gets obnoxious.
FREE BIG OTTO! I want him to get out and start raising hell Margos-style!

From Kurt's blog:SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2008 FOR THE RECORD... For the record, Sons of Anarchy is pure fiction. Pure f*cking fiction. The characters, the club, the world, the mythology all sprung from the dark recesses of my twisted little imagination.
The show is NOT based on any individual, any specific organization, any book, any article, or any pitch. Any similarities (and I don't know of any) to anyone or any group is unintentional and purely coincidental.
I don't think he likes peeps making that comparison
