I am a big fan of many things and, to me, this is PROOF POSITIVE that this is total bias against The Shield and actors thereof. I cannot even wrap my mind around the blatant shut out.
What a shame. I hope, and bet, that the people involved with TS can see it as well and don't take it personally.
Hollywierd is one f-ed up place.

I wouldn't say its bias against the show or its actors. TBH I dont know the reason why but I would say that the more popular shows with much larger viewerships and also brand new shows get nominations all the time. Smaller shows like TS, The Wire or even Sleeper Cell(I dont think it got niminated) on Cable shows in the US always get looked upon because of this. TBH I think the only nominations TS should have got was Best Supporting Actor for Walton Goggins and possibly Best Actor for Michael Chikilis. After that, it was a pretty quiet season 6

Damn shame. Goggins definitely deserved to not only be nominated, but to win for best supporting actor. Chiklis also deserved at least a nomination. Best show on TV gets no Emmy nominations - something isn't right.

This is from EW online
And um... You must have missed The Shield this season, because Walt Goggins blew everyone away.

I was most upset about Walton not getting his much deserved nomination...good to see EW giving him his props, but it's well past due for the Emmy's to take their thumb out of their asses

I agree Walt blew me away this season. I was just talking to my mom about how he makes you feel like what he did is real. Absurd.

As great as Walton was this season, I can understand the snub.
1) Only 10 episodes isn't enough to showcase the great acting. 2) Easily the worst season of the Shield to date. 3) Low viewership. 4) Lots of competition as the number of drama-based tv shows seems to be increasing. 5) Not enough hype.
Hopefully season 7 gives us something more, something that forces them to acknowledge the best show on TV...

vladinator, I don't want to sound like I'm disagreeing with you (though, personally, I do disagree) but I just want to challenge you on why you think Season 6 was "[e]asily the worst season of the Shield to date." There are a number of other people with this opinion, I think, and I just wondered why you think so. (As much as I enjoyed the season, I will certainly agree with those who say it had a few very significant flaws that held it back a bit.)

I thought this past season was pretty good. The fight between Vic and Shane was intense and the letter he wrote? If that falls into the wrong hands, Vic is done. And Shane will come out smelling like roses.
