***REMEMBER THE SPOILER POLICY!***
For staters, it's another sign that power has gone to Wyms' head that she just annointed Julien to the ST like she is frickin Pope. I haven't gone thru all the posts so I don't know if anyone mentioned this but, um ... don't you have to be a detective? Or maybe I should say "didn't you have to be a detective?"
So, how is Julien gonna work out? I did see some comments that Julien doesn't have to be afraid that Vic has an ax to grind with him any more. That is true, but I have a feeling Vic will before long! I see nothing but trouble with Wyms' (she's no longer Claudette to me, heh) little junior crusader on the team. But, somehow, sometime, she will get hers for being a hypocrite about wanting only the "truth."

I thought the same thing, Chem. All the members of the Strike Team, past and present have been detectives. Just plopping a uni with 4 or 5 years on the force doesn't seem right. Pure power trip on Claudette's part.

Agreed. She wants to have an inside track to what's going on in the ST. She knows that Julien will rat the others out to her if they get out of hand.

Vic will not be happy about this but will ultimately "embrace" Julien. He knows it will keep Wyms happy but is also smart enough to know just how to use him for his advantage. I think this is the role he will have or else another "inner character struggle from within" with Julien himself possibly buying into some of the things he sees.

Even if a drug/gang unit like the Strike team had no explicit rules, is this bump even possible?

The more I've thought about this and what the policy of The Barn is, the more I would have liked more substance and lead in to it. I think Julien should have had to take the Detective exam or something like that. Maybe his rank of Corporal is good enough per their P&P.

I personally think Julian wil only hurt the Strike Team. Taking notes to report to Claudette, what the h*ll? He ain't nothing but a snitch b*tch. He needs to put back on the blue before he gets Vic, Ronnie or Kevin hurt or even worse, killed.

I don't have a problem with Julian being on the strike team. He does have three or four years of experience of the force so he can be promoted through merit. Wyms is just trying to put good people of the team that she can trust. She wants to get the strike team as far away from Vic, Ronnie, and Shane as she can.

It's not the same Strike Team anymore! He will be fine, Vic always does things with out all of the "team" knowing about it. Ronnie is Vic's new go to guy now that Shane is injured and since the whole Antwon thing. Although Vic and Shane have the history that the rest of the Strike Team doesn't have.
Bottom line, good recommendation of Julian by Capt. Wymms!

I don't care for Julien never have. Taking notes is his way of being a snitch to claudette. I was glad that Hiatt put a stop to the note taking as well as Vic the new guy at least knows how things are done. Julien is to much of a do things by the book and maybe he is the one who will eventually bring Vic down.Esp with Juliens loyalty to Claudette and doing the right thing.

I don't think he was snitching on them.... he might have but he took mental notes when Danny was training him, he might have taken actual notes a few times too?

Someone with not as many years doing things as Julien will resort to what he knows when put into something new. In the trainings I have done, they always try to "prepare" us for the unexpected. By that, I mean that when you are put into a situation where things might be going exactly textbook, you resort back, by pure instinct, to how you were trained. He is completely green to his new capacity and it's instinct to him to take notes. Alterior motive though? I'd bet on it.

i think julien being part of the strike team will be the turning point of all his moral beliefs he solidly preserves since now.i see him grow out of it giving birth to a new person by throwing away the holy bible from his head.

I thought it was odd that Claudette could put a uni on the strike team. I don't think it is a bad choice. Julien has shown that he can handle himself in dangerous situations and he might develop into a good detective in time.
I personally think this is Claudette having her cake with the strike team and eating it too. She gets to keep Vik out on the streets where he can deliver and still keep a leash on him since Julien has made it very clear that he has no problem with breaking the blue wall of silence and ratting on people. Now Vik has to look over his shoulder and keep things legal...
