it sounds more like they want to get rid of Kav who is probably making EVERY officer in there uncomfortable and unable to do their jobs properly. Claudette saying that to the Phillips and the Chief at the end of last season helped Vic a whole lot. Promos are always mis-leading. If you watch all of them from the last 5 season on the FX site what they make it look like is going to happen and what does actually happen are quite diffrent. I almost forgot............THAT PROMO WAS THE SHIT. I hope the 21 gun salute is the 1st scene during the next episode.

I had to wait 45 friggin minutes for the commercial to air but so worth it! However, it skipped slightly while recording so one part is messed up, so I have to wait for Friday and record it again! But I got to see it so whoo hoo!Watch it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_5cbmTosW8(new link) THANKS SO MUCH for posting this. If Nip/Tuck, Thief, or Rescue Me isn't on, I'm not really watching FX. God knows I couldn't get paid to watch DIRT. Thanks again.

No prob! ;D I only watch FX for TS and Nip/Tuck, and wouldn't bother with Dirt unless I knew a promo was on, and even then, I tune out when the show it on I have to give props to the people who make these promos, they are so friggin awesome! I can only imagine how long it takes to make them!!

I'll catch up on all The Shield promos once The Riches starts airing. That show actually looks quite good rather than the shallow titilation that is Dirt.

If I thought about the phrasing for a month, I wouldn't be able to describe how I felt any better than that, lynch. Okay, so I've watched the commercial like 10 times and one question keeps coming to mind: What, besides the return of FX's Flagship Show, gives this premiere Special Event status? Please tell me it's more than that...does the new episode run over 60 minutes?!?!

Probably just hype. We all are stoked about the show returning and of course consider it special. It's just the network's way of trying to snag new viewers or those that might not have been around for the whole ride.

I have a feeling that Dutch is going to end up becoming the hero in some way. The "He's not going to give up without a fight" with "What do you want me to do?" sounds as if Dutch is maybe going to fight Kavanaugh in regarding to the Lemansky issue. I thought something like that too. The way the promo is (always misleading), it's made to seem like he's referring to Vic since Vic is mentioned before it ("timeline for Vic on the night of the murder"), but with Claudette's "He's not going to give up without a fight" it sounds more like they want to get rid of Kav who is probably making EVERY officer in there uncomfortable and unable to do their jobs properly. Kavanaugh needs to stop making himself look like an ass with such serious accusations and either prove it or get out of the way! I think you guys (and strike) are right. They love to piece scenes from their promos together in such a way that you think the events in one scene are based on the scene right before it ... tricky bastards.

Sopranos does it too. You think something major is in hand when different cuts are placed together. Was SO annoying when you found out it wasn't that at all.

I agree that Claudette is referring to Kavanaugh with the "He's not going away without a fight" line. I watched the commercial again this morning (snagged it on the DVR over the end credits of Deuce Bigalow--1.5 glorious minutes that won't be erased). Dutch seems incredulous that Kavanaugh is trying to establish a timeline for Vic on the night of Lem's murder. I think The Barn will rally around Vic and oust Kavanaugh. I get the impression Chief Phillips doesn't want to be bothered with him either.

Kavanaugh is trying to pin Lem's death on Vic?? Wasn't he following Vic that night?

I think everyone had a tail that night except for Shane, thats why he was free to go and hook up and ultimately kill lem...Vic and Ronnie were trying to lose thier tails before they met with Lem.. please correct me if i am wrong but i believe that was how it unfolded

Kavanaugh and one of his fellow Rat-Squad members were tailing both Ronnie and Vic but Shane left after his teammates and their tails.

The Sopranos is far worse regarding misleading promos...one I recall from last year featured the usual ominous clips where it looked like someone was getting whacked in the next ep, intercut with Tony telling Silvio "Do it. For ALL our sakes."
In context, this utterance referred to Sil leaning on a building inspector to get Carmela's project back on track so she'd quit snooping around other things.
When it comes to "The Shield", the only thing that comes to mind is that they definitely cut in any scene where Vic has his gun drawn on somebody...understandable, but when was the last time Vic actually shot anyone?
