The pain of having to wait every day for new Sopranos gets bigger and bigger...
...On the other hand, we have new Family Guy and American Dad tonight. And soon, new South Park.

Lets just hope the second half of this season and the last season of the shield shapes up to be a whole hell of a lot better than the last season of the Sopranos is shaping up to be.....
I don't know about you guys but as far as the Sopranos goes, I haven't been so let down by a TV show after so much anticipation in my life!!

To be honest, it was split into two meaning the season isn't over yet for Sopranos. I will admit it was crap but it's still got eight more episodes... and I bet you they'll be the best ever.

I don't know about you guys but as far as the Sopranos goes, I haven't been so let down by a TV show after so much anticipation in my life!! A friend sent me the entire first 4 seasons of The Sopranos on VHS. Since then I haven't seen it. A columnist for our local newspaper spoke highly of the early seasons, but had very little good to say about the most recent season--I'm not sure what season number that is. Didn't they have something ridiculous like a two-year hiatus? I can see how the story line pool could be drying up, though. There's only so much you can do with a show of that nature "... oh, that a**hole double-crossed us ... let's whack him," etc.

I think Season 5 is one of the best and Season 6 starts off with the most fantastic cliffhanger ever. But it starts to kinda lose it's steam... I'm still willing to give it a chance.

The first two seasons were amazing, 3 was disappointing but four and five picked up a bit. Especially five . Haven't seen 6 yet but will get it as soon as its on DVD.

The only thing that seems to keep me coming back every Sunday night for the Sopranos is that it keeps seeming like its gonna get better.... I mean look at the first episode of the first half of this season....AWESOME!!!! then we went thru about 3 episodes of utter crap with Tony exploring the afterlife and searching for the meaning of life....what kind of crap is that....i felt like i was watching some low budget M. Night Shyamalan movie then just when it keeps seeming like it is going to pick up again, we hit another road block and it continues to suck... i don't know...i think i am going to give the second half of this season 3 episodes to impress me and if not then i am done.... I hope the shield writers never get that desperate to churn out episodes that they ruin themselves like the sopranos brass seems to be doing!!! BTW....how do i get my status upgraded from "PUNK"

I really liked the dream stuff. It's pretty much messages and stuff in the dreams that you pick up on and it makes you feel good. I will admit that the last episode (Cold Stones was the best one near the end but the Paris storyline was so bad) was terrible but...
Like I said, it's split into two. I think with war on New York almost inevitable, it will be fantastic.

TPTB have a lot of ground to cover. I dont know how far they are planning on getting with the fall of Shane in the 2nd half of S5, but I'm hoping they set us up for a good cliffhanger for S6. As much as I hate being in suspense, it's a good thing to keep viewers coming back for more.

They will milk Shane's demise for a while. Not til the end of the show I think but watching him go thgouh personal hell and torture and ultimately seeing his final fall will make for some damn interesting stuff to come. It will be a reoccurring theme at different levels for some time. It will be a major issue the first of the next season, then not as much (maybe even not hearing of it for an ep. or so), back up again, then out with a bang.

Your absolutely right, but there's something at the end of each season that makes you come back for more though. Thats why I continue to look forward to watching The Shield

Agreed! The Shield is like some weird-ass addiction that just keeps you coming back for more and more and more, once you get a taste you just have to keep eating! Sorry for the eating euphamism, I am watching bits of "Supersize me", during commercials of CSI, for the first time and have food on the brain.

Further to what I said above, it's not just something at the end of each season, it's each episode.... I watched the first 4 seasons on tv, desperately waiting each week until the next episode and the next and the next. It used to be on late Saturday night with NYPD Blue, so if I was going out I would record it and watch it in my recovery on the Sunday best recovery medicine ever! Each episode was so intense. I happened upon a copy of season 5 and couldn't stop myself watching 2 to 3 to 4 episodes at a time. I don't think I could have handled watching s5 from week to week, the suspense would have killed me! So yeah, what was the topic?? I'm hanging out for the next season!
