From TV Guide: Lem's in jail, and the Strike Team can't bail him out because Kavanaugh has had their assets (and Corinne's) frozen. Kavanaugh also engineers a confrontation between Vic and Terry Crowley's brother. Elsewhere, Aceveda confronts Kavanaugh; Claudette, who's back at work, investigates the murder of a man whose body was found in a Dumpster; and Tina makes yet another mistake.
From FX : With their finances frozen, Vic and his guys are forced to find other means to bail Lem out of jail. A- for me.
I actually liked (in a humorous way) what happened with Tina.
She's screwing up, but she's going up too.
Billings.... <snip> I don't know what'll happen to Dutch and this whole thing. It looks like he took the pictures.
This ep was the damn cameo comeback. I haven't seen that undercover dude, Hoffman, since season 1. Smitty and Halpern I was expecting at some point in the season.
spoiler removed by E. I know it can be difficult to keep track of what's been revealed to us by Glen Mazzara, and what's been revealed in the Snitches board, but please do try to watch it.

B for me, great set up for the next 2 eps! Good to see the ST just making out by the hair of their chins(Shane and Ronnie getting the bag of money). Vics convo with Becca about switching places with lem was BS. Thats why they all have the same lawyer, so they don't have 1 of them making a deal. Good episode just not great.

I'm really not gonna break this episode down the way I'd like to at this time... But I WOULD like to give an emphatic "Oh hell yeah!!" in regards to my opinion of this ep. I thought this was one of the best episodes of the season so far. Fast-paced, just enough action, and lots of questions for the remainder of the season. - It seems obvious that Tina is going to eventually f*ck things up SO bad that a fellow officer will get seriously injured/killed due to her negligence. - It also appears to me that Becca is smitten with msr. Mackey. Or at least awed by his noble gestures and how tight-knit the boys are. The scene at the end with just him and her reminded me of the old days when Vic banged everything in sight at the drop of a hat. ;D - The more and more I watch Dutch, the more and more I want to think he's a dick. But in actuality it's simply that he's only being revealed to be just like the others. Full of faults. Rationally speaking, him getting involved with the Vic thing (telling Kav about the Money Train) and also the Tina-cam thing with Billings seems a bit weasle-y. Not to mention using Corrine (because subconciously that's exactly what he did).... Another notch on his weasle-meter. Let's just say that if it was Claudette, he damn sure wouldn't step on her like he is everyone else. He'd actually try to do the opposite and help her OUT of the situation. Which is why it's so funny to me... Doing whatever it takes to help yourself and those close to you. That's exactly how/why this series started..... Vic murdering Terry. - Danny and Corrine... Nice exchange (he's a cheater, you're a whore, the kid's a bastard). For some reason that scene made me think that Vic is NOT the father. Though it seemed to be set-up to make us think that he is. - It was weird seeing Claudette return and not ONE SINGLE OTHER PERSON greeting her. - The title of the ep -'Smoked'- is obvioulsy referring to the weed from the step-son as well as what Kav is trying to do to Vic. Smoke him out.... My opinion at least. - Ronnie and Shane diving through windows... Dutch/Dette pulling up... Vic yelling clear from the back. Hahaha.... what a tense scene! Loved it! I'll hush for now and give everyone else a chance to share their thoughts.

That WAS weird, Syko. Claudette should have gotten a small crowd going.

Well, she did show up two weeks ahead of time, so my guess is she caught everyone off guard so no occassion was made of her return (probably intentional on her part).

The next two weeks cannot go by fast enough. With a ridiculous cliffhanger/preview on 24 this week and the everything hitting the fan here, the suspense is KILLING me. Great episode. That's all. Just great. This season has been fantastic.

I'd like to give props to Jay Karnes for delivering the hands-down funniest line in Shield history this episode. "You should let me keep these for evidence." Has he no shame at all. His delivery was just perfect; timing and everything.

Great episode. I liked seeing Schmitty and Helburn again, Schmitty was always one my my favorite cameo characters.
Is it just me of did it look like Danny was not as large as earlier episode? I too liked the little scene with Corrine and Danny.
The seen where Ronnie and Shane are getting the money from the stoner was great too, classic Shield Moment, just like in Blowback when they are putting in the bug at the bakery. There was one little goof about that who arc, but not a big one usually the fall asleep after you have come down from your high, And ive smoked more than my share of what the called the BC bud to know for the most part when you wake up after smoking your usually not as high as he looked in the cage.
The whole Tina locker room deal was good too, I just dont understand why Dutch keeps helping Billings get out of his shit. She did look good though.
Now on to Aceveda, either Vic has something planned for that whole deal or he bought Kavs plan hook, line and sinker. Guess well half to wait to see how that plays out.
Oh yea, does anyone else think that the scenes right befor the opening song is played arnt as good as they used to be. Im starting to miss Vics puchline he would always say right b4 the music.

The only problem i had with this episode is that Clauette was back with a cane. No police department would ever let someone work in the field in her condition. Other than that i think it was crap that no-one welcomed her back. The lawyer sooooooooooooooo wants vics schlong it is almost painful. Their last scene together made me realize that she probably left her seat wet after talking to vic. Cavanaugh needs to be exterminated but i like the lookon his face when vic said that "terry was a rat just like you" It was priceless. And that scene just let it be seen how much vic wants to put an end to him. Also the line he told Acaveda about "I'll scorche the earth...." was just chilling and maybe acaveda will bend to the voters and help vic. The previews make it look like Cav on a stretcher begging vic to help him. I wonder what the masks are for but i guess i'll have to wait and see. This episode gets an A from me.

How many mistakes are they gonna give Tina?
Great moment giving Vic & Lem that hug.
Seems to me Kav is making a lot of mistakes that could call this investigation into a serious gray area if ever challenged. Case in point: bringing Terry’s brother in to harass Vic. If Kav wanted to use anything from Vic’s statements right then, it’d be thrown out.
OMG – Dutch gets Tina pics! He should know better than to hold on to that stuff (remember the kiddy porn laptop?) for even a sec. I’m glad he moved forward and gave them to her. “I should probably keep those.” Priceless!
I like that the gloves are off between Kav & Vic –
I like that the gloves are off between Kav & Aceveda –
That's how the good shit happens.
#yahoo# Smitty! Enuff said!

IMHO, the best scene/dialogue was the bitch slap-off between Danny and Corrine:
DANNY "He made that vow, not me"
CORRINE "Which makes him a cheat. That makes you a whore and the baby you're both having a bastard"
Amen, Corrine! Whether or not Vic is the source of the "bastard" seed, Danny deserves having some hardcore truth thrown in her face... she IS a whore and her offspring IS a bastard. It's one of those times I really appreciate the un-PC prowess of this series. And I am liking Corrine for the first time since the series premiere.... Go Corrine!
Tina's pics...are men really that pathetic?? "We're not all neanderthals", Dutch? Ha!! Ah, yes, you ARE!
My prediction: Tina's gonna burn Billings and Dutch both. I think she knows exactly what they did and in the end, some balls are gonna roll. As for the Becca, I am not buying her sappy look at Vic in the final scenes. Not when she despised his corrupt nature early on. Shawn Ryan's wishful thinking legacy if you ask me, esp if she lets Vic bang her.
BTW, I will reopen the name the "bastard" contest... since it's not born yet.

This was one of those A+ classic Shield episodes. ST is up to their ears with IAD, Lem's in the can and they pull a fast one and steal money to bail Lem out. Priceless! Claudette coming back and no one said hi to her except Dutch, cause he's the only one who likes her. I hope Vic is not the dad of Danny's kid just to make Corrine look like the douche she is, I did like the scene though and her laying into Kav was good too, showed even more what a self centered egotisical dick nose he is. I hope he gets hit by a bus! I wonder which way Acevada will go. He's being yanked from both ends. That BJ pic would sure come in handy now. I feel for Lem, he's gonna get hurt the most here. Also can't believe 9 episodes and Vic ain't been laid yet. Becca looked tempting last night though. Hard to believe only 2 shows left. Dutch is a real piece of work, and welcome back Smitty!

-anyone feel some chilly foreshadowing when terry's brother (drew?) yells "God knows what you did, and God will have your soul, even if I have to deliver it to Him?" Something along those lines. If Vic is going to die in the series finale, you know it'll be at the hands of Terry's brother - also a cop - which would really be a "full circle" ending. Great stuff - even if it never happens, the writers planted that seed perfectly. Vic's look when Drew said that was priceless. -I'm kinda pissed they keep giving Tina these filler plots. maybe she has something to do w/ billings being replaced, i'm hoping that's where they take it. -you could see Shane STILL hesitating to help Lem - Ronnie had to urge him to park around back to get the drug money, and he was facing AWAY from the prison wall leaning up against a car when Lem was released from jail. Lem is the ST's conscience and he also seems pays the price for everything they do, with his stomach problems, jail, heat from the investigation, etc., like some kind of twisted Giver character (if you've ever read the book). -I'm looking forward to seeing how Kav comes down on Smitty. I bet they'll spend at least a couple minutes on him. I love the fact that the ST in S3 helped smitty get his new business up & running w/ that list of robbery victims, after they avoided the money train marked bills with Smitty's help, and THAT'S why it's not unbelievable he'd have $100K liquid, ready to bail out Lem. The fruits of the money train stash end up bailing the ST out of this one, even though the cash is long gone! -Vic taught Corrine a good ol' lesson by allowing her to be burned by Kav, since he knew she didn't know squat about the really juicy stuff that was going on pre-Kav; gotta love that. -lastly, if anyone saw the preview for next week's ep, ... spoiler removed by E. Discussion of the Previews should go in the Snitches board (there's already a thread there). Some of our members (and Queen Bitches) don't watch them.

Oh, man - the tension throughout this episode was almost unbearable...great Shield stuff like in early seasons. Vic really went back to his old ways to get that bail money, too! Gave it an "A" - it had the edge that made me start watching the show in the first place.
I swear, though, I almost missed it...I almost threw my TV off the deck because of those "Black & White" commercials every three seconds. I'm surprised they don't have the music playing as background while Vic is driving or show ads for it on passing buses when he's on the street.

Hey, Chemikalman the Harleyman, what did you think about the Yamaha bike commercial? Think it's any good? Of course, I mean other than the boob girl shooting pool... what that has to do with the bike's design is beyond me... other than the wishful thinking of the boys designing it... heh heh

I hope Vic is not the dad of Danny's kid just to make Corrine look like the douche she is, WOOOO! YEEEEESSSSS! I can't stand Corrine at all; since she took the kids in S1 I've always hated her character; whining, pathetic, weak, annoying. ANYTHING that makes her look like an idiot is golden in my book. She fucked up AGAIN by ratting about the $65K. Maybe Vic will toss her off a building or something. If she had confronted Danny anywhere else but the Barn, Danny woulda popped her right in the mouth and deservedly so. It's her own damn fault her assets are frozen; she hired a lousy atty! "Here, Mr. IAD officer, here's enough evidence to put me and my ex in jail and our kids in foster care, but don't worry about making a deal with me right now; we'll get around to that eventually." IDIOT! Why are men who sleep with lots of women called "studs" and women who sleep with lots of men are called "whores?" Anyway, this episode was amazing; another A from E. All the eps this season have garnered A's from me thus far. I think "Smoked" refers to the weed, and someone made the comment earlier that Kav is trying to "smoke out" Vic - great observation. The most memorable moment for me was that big man hug between Lem and Vic at the county jail. I think the camerawork has a lot to do with why a particular scene or moment is so intense for me.... Shane is pissing me off. And what was Ronnie thinking by adding Lem to the list of possible Kav Rats?? Geeeesh. Julien needs a better story than "my rookie trainee sucks." Dutch wasn't just covering for Billings, he was also helping Tina (and himself if I may say so). She gets to keep her job now with a bit of a promotion, where before Billings was about to wash her out. I was a bit puzzled about Claudette's return; but then, no one really likes her except Dutch. The Wonder Twins line made me double over on the couch laughing.... They need a clever combined name like Bennifer and Bradgelina... How about Dutchette?! Clutch?! LOL Seeing Smitty was fabulous; one of my fav. supporting characters. I don't even know why I enjoy him so much! He's never let the Strike Team down; maybe that's it. Oh yeah, Becca wants Vic. "Right now I think I'd be a better friend than an attorney." (paraphrased) Hmmmmmm. Whew.... the preview for next week's ep looks INSANE! There's a thread in the Snitches board for analyzing it, I won't give anything away here -- but DAAAAAAMMMNN! ================================ edit: combined posts to avoid the perilous double-posting! <SNIP>I almost threw my TV off the deck because of those "Black & White" commercials every three seconds. I'm surprised they don't have the music playing as background while Vic is driving or show ads for it on passing buses when he's on the street. #roflao# At least we had a few different commercials this time and a new one for Black.White.... OMG! I can't wait until this POS show falters and we never see/hear of it again! Damn, I'm really really sick of the ads. There were 2 during every commercial break last night. Do they promote it like this during other FX shows? Or are they seriously targeting us Shield fans as their potential audience? I might have watched it out of curiosity had they not tried to brainwash me. Instead, I am actively discouraging everyone I know from watching it, and I certainly will not. "Damn! I'm WHITE!" Have a nice steaming cup of SHUT THE HELL UP!
