Maybe I'm biased, but I thought this episode was fantastic.
I'll post more later, as I don't have time for anything in-depth at this point. I will say, though, that the look on Dutch's face at the very end was gut-wrenching. You KNOW he's going to blame himself, because if she had stopped when she originally wanted to, it wouldn't have happened. He pushed her to keep herself going, and even if it was the right thing to do, he's going to blame himself, ESPECIALLY if her injuries are serious, or fatal.

Damn I THOUGHT that was Jimmy Johnson. I watched it a few times, but forgot to check the credits. And the references to "Terry" were hilarious.
Claudette was wonderful in this episode. I wonder if she is Claudead!

Nah, she's probably in a coma or some shit like that, and Dutch will be faced with pulling the plug, or maybe he can just strangle her like a cat!
Plus the whole 100 lbs. of meth, completely unbelievable, like some low life users on the street are going to come in contact with that amount of product. Drug lords are lucky to get their paws on that!

I thought that looked like him, but wasn't sure! Just checked the credits and it has Jimmy Johnson as "J.J." Too weird! I don't know how much you all watch FOX SPORTS NFL Pre-Game Show, but Jimmy Johnson is on there. Terry Bradshaw is also on there and they give each other TONS of shit on the show and do skits making fun of one another. How strange was it, knowing this information, that Jimmy Johnson's character tonight was screaming "TERRY DID IT!!" Very, very funny... --Dan Great call, Dan! I've only watched this ep once so far and I completely missed "Terry did it!" the first time. That's hilarious! What if he would have added "and Howie helped!" Nah, that would have ruined it. ;D

By the way, I noticed that the writers of this ep were Adam Fierro and Emily Lewis. OK, here's a tough trivia Q for y'all: anyone know who Emily Lewis was in an earlier life?

She was Shawn Ryan's assistant for the first 2 or 3 seasons of the show. She left to become a writer and voila!! =======================================================
Woooo! "Man Inside" gets an A from E.....
"Tickle your balls on your own time." LOL! Kudos to FW for his outstanding work – I had been amused by Kav, but the random summoning of Strike Team members is pissing me off. I’m getting completely ticked off at him. His interview with Ronnie was slightly amusing.
Ronnie’s idea of individual attorneys is gold. They should go for it. I don’t see his idea as betrayal, as the ep description and some spoilers had alluded. It’s smart strategy, actually. I don’t think Ronnie will turn on Vic at all. Oh, forgive me for saying it, but I wasn’t too impressed with DRS’s acting in his scene with Kav. (*ducks, waiting for flying peaches….) He just seemed very stiff and his words were kinda forced. Maybe I need another viewing; I’ve only seen it 3 times now.
Shane is antsy. Wow. I never thought he’d waver, but his little outburst at Becca shows he’s really on edge, and the way he talked about Vic during their meeting without him; the smirk when he said his name…. I just don’t know. I’m starting to wonder about his loyalty.
Lem and Aceveda’s scene was great! I love seeing Aceveda playing up the smarmy politician; his back is against a wall. He knows Kav could pull some of his skeletons out of the closet and he’s freaked. Benito M. is becoming one of my favorite actors on the show… Lem could take a deal; give IAD something more trivial… but the way he talked about Vic during their 3some was tender and brotherly, almost fatherly. I don’t think he’ll take a deal.
Vic’s confession to Becca made me fall in love with him all over again. I’d do anything for him - use me, abuse me, make me write bad checks! OoooooOo, then arrest me for it! YES! Cuff me, you bad boy…..
*AHEM
Claudette nailed Kleavon because Dutch pushed her to do it. She won’t blame Dutch for her fainting, but he’ll carry it forever, no matter what she says. He is intensely bonded to her and I don’t know how he’ll work without her – at least in the immediate episodes. Shit, what if she dies?? My goodness. CCH nailed this episode; she owned it! I have to say taht Kleavon's acting was a bit weak around learning Fatima was "dead." His crying and sobbing wasn't nearly as good as his stony-faced bullshitting from seasons passed. Loved him flipping out upon seeing Fatima alive on the killing floor.
The scene with the drug dealer finding out he’d killed his own daughter was awesome. The Shieldian factor was leaving him in there screaming; wanting to know her name. Great casting ONCE AGAIN!
Man Inside: Kavanaugh is inside the Barn, all their finances, and their heads. Aceveda wants Lem to make a deal, thus being the ‘man inside.’ Kleavon got inside Claudette’s head for a little while, “How long you been sick?” Danny called in sick because of the little man inside her. edit: grammer error - thanks chem

Will you help me?"

Once again I enjoyed this episode even though there wasn't a lot of action in it.
The whole story with Dutch and Claudette was great and he will be second guessing himself for quite some time to come. He pushed her to push herself and he won't let that go too soon.
I was a little upset with Ronnie for suggesting that they get seperate lawyers but I agree with others it won't be him or Lem that gives anything up...the one we will have to watch for is Shane! I take his actions as more of a betrayal, especially after everything they did to save his ass last season.
Vic is just the man...its like he can talk his way out of damn near any situation that is why I think, hope, that they will pull this whole thing off with Kav.
Plus this was fun for me this week cause I got to watch this episode live for the first time this season. My schedule at work changed, I used to have to be there at five in the morning so I would have to be up by four am...so I have been watching the others on my tivo over the weekend after most of you have watched the current episode at least three or four times.
Can't wait til next week...wonder if the CI will have an accident while doing the undercover work?? Could be interesting.

ah, here's some good trivia - the guy who played the head of the other precinct's squad (Paul Ben-Victor) played Moe Howard in the same Three Stooges movie where Chiklis played Curly Howard

what angle is vic going with with the corrine diner scene?
My thought is he is going to try to be sweet then try to get back with her in order to marry him again. Then she will b protected under spousal priviledge. She might just do it as she keeps saying she doesn't want to hurt him.

I hear that. He lives in the moment and his emotions get ahead of his brain.
I really enjoyed the ep. They have so reduced the clutter that was present in S4.
I agree with .:E:. about Forest Whitaker - Mrs. DA and I are both blown away by how much he is getting under our skin and pissing us off!

Well, I still have that one about the link between Vic and the line "talk about coitus interruptus" -- in ep 2, I think. How come I can't remember which ep it was in this season of TS, but I can remember the same line in an ep of Law and Order back in '91? I guess it's like I said earlier: my memory isn't bad, it's just selective.

You know, I love these "setup" episodes... it is very important to me to take a break from the action and understand the pressure that are making the characters do what they do.
CCH Pounder was really great in this eppy. I hope Claudette isn't dead. Personally, I was glad that the secondary characters got as much screen time as Vic and his boys... nice change of pace.
Chiky did a great job in his confession scene with Becca... you so want to believe every word he says.
I think DRS had more speaking lines in this episode than the other 4 seasons combined! :-) It was nice that he got some screen time... and I loved how Ronnie talked smack to Vic about Corinne sending them all down the river. Took balls, if you ask me!
I am really excited to see how the next few episodes go down. Solid B+ for this episode. This is a very intense season.

This was the first time I actually heard Vic refer to Corinne as his ex, badcop.
I agree with your points, PC. I don't think Claudette is dead, btw. I did at first, but I don't anymore. And, you're right, that it seemed Ronnie got more lines in this ep than all the other seasons put together, ha ha.
The thing that I thought was really cool was the way changing his delivery on a single word changed the entire meaning of what Ronnie said: I'm thinking of when he confronted Vic about the $65K he gave Corinne. He sounded very confrontational until he got to the last word in the sentence, cash, and then he softened the tone and all of a sudden he didn't sound confrontational at all! Wonder if that was DRS or Dean White, the director.
Unfortunately, despite the acting by Claudette and the play between her and Dutch that it provided, I think the whole Kleavon story arc was pretty weak. I might bring that up with Glen if I can think of the right way to phrase it, heh.
And I know this might sound very "un-PC", but did anyone else think this: when they found Kleavon's last victim, the one with the chopped hair, I thought it sure looked like Fatima and wondered how Claudette could tell so quickly that it wasn't? Maybe she had a different angle. And what about the pics they showed Kleavon of "dead" Fatima? I guess they got her to pose for the Polaroid?

I know they had papers to start the divorce, but never heard if it went thru. They are divorced. Vic mentioned they've been divorced for nearly a year in Shield time. Also, Vic doesn't have to get back with Corrine. She's already protected under spousal priviledge. That's been mentioned a few times before already.

Agh, I voted A. Don't really feel like re-hashing everyone's ideas so I'll just leave it at that. Dutch/Jay Karnes had his single best episode ever. I felt so proud of him when he told Claudette to get her ass back in there.

Well, I just watched the episode for the second time, and I found something very amusing about the Vic/Corrine diner scene. Vic starts out by telling her to tell the absolute truth about everything, but like thirty seconds later, he's suddenly telling her exactly what to tell IAD.
