*smooches CC and emails her some of the Cookies&Cream ice cream she's noshing on....* I'll even add whipped cream and MagicShell because I adore you so! See?? See what I mean? This is the coolest, kindest, most interesting woman I've ever met. Times ten. Not so, that would be YOU! I mean really. Beans! Who'da thought! Which, by the way, made excellent soup. Seriously, it's good to be back amongst the home folk.

Few of you remember me, but I'm the same Axeman from TSF forums. This is my first post here. I'm already impressed.
I was angry that TSF forums wouldn't come back, until someone pointed me to this superior one.
But I wish Nychen the best in whatever she's doing.

I was recommended. Stevemarshall on the GameFAQs TV message board pointed me here. Before that, I was trying to find a board like this the old-fashioned, Google way. The bad thing about looking for another Shield board is that putting "The Shield" into google is like trying to find a swimming midget in Noah's flood. There were so many results, and not even half of them matched up to the show. I like this site right now, even though I'm not feeling the layout 100% The thing is, I'm still a little mad at Nychen closing down her site. She just up and closed it. I mean, how bad did The Shield become to her? I didn't like Season 4 much either, but 5 is showing promise. I should have seen it coming. I remember when she changed the headline by THE SHIELD on the forum front page to "This is Not Happening." I didn't think much of it though. I was almost as mad as her.

Well, what's done (and gone) is done (and gone!) Our site functions differently than TSF but you'll get used to it with practice. You might also appreciate the difference in administration on TSR. We have several staff, we meet weekly, and we discuss and vote on everything. You won't see any of us having temper tantrums or putting someone down for an opinion or sloppy English. We have the highest regard for our members and consider TSR a service we can provide... not a platform for self-aggrandizement. It's all about the FANS on TSR!!
As for Nancy, I think she just burned out. She'd made too many enemies with her behavior and it just wasn't fun anymore, I suppose. Her last gesture of disregard, perhaps even contempt, by closing down without so much as an explanation... well, that speaks for itself. Oh, and rumor has it that she's floating around here. [Lead Investigator knows something but won't tell!] If so, I bet she likes TSR better, too!
Anyway, we are really glad you found us and signed on.

I'm glad too. I didn't post much at TSF, but I plan to be a regular here. It's only right. Things are going down this season.
There are two things you might have to forgive me for:
1.) If I find another Shield board, I'll probably register and post there too, under the same name. There are so few shield sites, and you remember what I said about the google search. I mentioned this because I don't want to be in any cross-board beef or something. 2.) If it isn't too much to ask, can I get more info on the Nychen situation? You said she made enemies and stuff. I was a fairly new member at TSF, joining around the end of Season 3. I never saw much bitchiness in Nancy.
Edit: Seeing as how Nychen's focus is now on niptuckfans.com, what did you guys think of N/T season 3? Don't be biased now. I thought it was good. The Carver was a major disappointment, but the finale episode was good enough in itself to pick up the slack from that. That is, if you don't count the problems of logic in the ending. All that aside though, N/T is still just an appetizer for The Shield. I heard that more people watched The Shield's season 5 premiere episode than Nip/Tuck's season 3 premiere. Is that true?

I would imagine there are several of us who hang out elsewhere too and with the same screen names. No problem! The TSR staff isn't into power trips. However, if you want to post a link to another Shield site, please clear it with our Admin first. We like to arrange reciprocal links. Unfortunately, a lot of the Shield sites on Google are dead. I don't know why they continue to be listed. As for Miss Chen, I think we'd rather lay that whole thing to rest. Unless you knew her, you probably didn't see the negative side--and don't we all have one to some extent? TSF is history now and earned its rightful place in the Shield fan archives. Let's leave it at that.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
So nice to find this place! After TSF closed down, I was thinking there wasn't going to be a place to civilly discuss this great show.
I never minded Nancy's "benevolent dictatorship" over at TSF and I am sure that as long as things aren't nasty here, I will like a "user-driven" forum just as much.
Looking forward to jumping in here.

The Admin (Chemikalman) and his Queen Bitches (E and CHIKchick) won't tolerate it. I think the rules they have really keep things in line and running smoothly. Though the site operates differently than TSF, it takes little exploring to see how it works. Have fun!

Be sure to hop on the CHAT ROOM after the Shield airs every Tuesday, it's (in my opinion) the best way to meet-n-greet people!! --Dan

I used to view TSF waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. I never joined though because F/X was blacked out in my area. And since I couldn't watch the show as it was happening (I instead had to wait for the dvd releases), every season I would simply wait until AFTER I watched the dvd's before checking out TSF. (Spoilers are a bitch!) So yeah, I was always a year behind. Make sense?? Lol.... So after buying (and watching) season 4, I went looking for the old site like before and was surprised to know that it was shut down. I looked for other sites and stumbled across one where I saw the name "blanketparty". I was like "whoa, there's a name I recognize!". It's so unique and such a great name that I was pretty sure it was the same person from TSF. So I dropped him an e-mail and he let me know that this is where all the old members meet now. (Thanks man!) Anyway, this season my cable company finally got with the program. So I was pretty excited to finally be able to contribute (though it sucks that it's for what is widely regarded as the last season!). I had some technical issues at first... but here I am!

Hey y'all! I was on TSF first as "Tommy McThug" (got suspended or something) and a bit later as "Iceberg Slim." Lately I've also been posting at IMDB as "Greenmonstrosity."
I recognize a handful of folks from the old gang. Good to see everyone btw.
I have to say I was a bit stymied by the rather abrupt closing of the TSF site -- but oh well. I'm sure Nancy had her reasons. Not excusing any spiteful behavior she may have exhibited toward some people -- if there was any. I generally never had much problem with her, but I'll agree that her style of moderation was of the heavy handed, micro-management variety -- and anything but moderate. Having said that, I usually got on pretty well with her.
Anyway, I've been a fan of The Shield since the beginning (though I'm decidedly less enamored with it lately) and I'm glad I found this place. I'll do a proper introduction later, but I just wanted to give a shout out to all my old TSF homies! ;^)>
Cheers!
