I caught these two eps again... what classic Shield they are! Nutty Shane with his wierdo hair, running around Vic like some nervous puppy; Vic oozing testosterone all over the place while Claudette buzzes like a hyper fly all over his shit; Dutch cowering around Laney... the delightful mix of comedy and horror that has been too rare lately.
I also figured out that Laney is bulemic. Duh! A few times she goes to the ladies room and returns spraying her breath...then chomps down doughnuts again. Interesting touch--would explain, in part, why she's such a self-control queen.
Oh, a bit of trivia... the actress who played Laney also played MC's wife in "Wired," the John Belushi flick. I can't think of her name but I bet our own Miss E can find stuff on the actress in a flash...
THIS is the season CCH should have been nominated and chosen for the Emmy...her character had so much more to do than she did last season. Amazing, really.

OoooOOoooooOo I love a challenge!! Check out the APB Board for info on Lucinda Jenney! I too am loving watching the seasons unfold on FX; wish they would air it earlier, though..... I need my beauty rest. There's something about watching it with the commercials; quite a bit more suspensful. I had forgotten that feeling, being addicted to my DVDs......

As much as I think that Season 2 is overrated, these two episodes are two of the best and they're definitely the best opening two (yes, even better than Pilot and Our Gang).
The Quick Fix is the perfect season opener, and Dead Soldiers is perhaps the quintessential 'Shield' episode.

As I recall, "Co-Pilot" was a fairly controversial ep and very few people even liked it. It's one of my favorites! I think there were problems with timeline inconsistencies--something I am very much inclined to ignore--and other people were annoyed at the interruption in the season for this flashback of sorts. I loved it. I thought it was a playful treat!

Wow, another thing we have in common, girl!! I simply loved Co-Pilot; even at the time. I enjoyed the extra tension over not knowing what was going on in the "here and now" plot line.
My favorite little moment in Co-Pilot is of Lem moving a giant crucifix - he bumps it on the ceiling and says something like, "Shit - Jesus Christ. Oh, sorry man." It cracks me up every effing time!!!

Now I don't know whether to be good or bad. ;D Did I ever mention that Season Two was one of my favs? Chiklis won his Emmy based mostly on the work done here. (Not that the other seasons did not kick ass) There was just something about season two that was magic. I loved many of the episodes. I loved the characters; Tio, Connie, Armadillo. The strike team was so united at the time. It was a good season.
